It's been one of those weeks. For those that know Barclay Stormdrain has quaffed his last earthly pint, the gods in Valhalla have best up their game to keep their crowns. I shall miss you little brother.

Retired, back in UK after time away, likes walking, baking, motorcycles & warm weather. Left of centre, pro EU. Don't DM me a generic "Hi"/"Hello" & little else it makes me think you're a bot, ditto 1/2 naked pictures. It'll earn an instant block.
Long past the point where we should be closing these bases, the US is not an ally anymore.
Good. But still not going far enough. Seems no challenge to this 1950s law: "Visiting US forces can prosecute if offences while they were on duty, against another member of the military, its property, or against a spouse or child" www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026...
It's obviously been stupid hot and dry. Anyhoo I've been remembering to fill the bird bath and this morning while sat outside saw several different pigeons come down for a drink.
Andy Burnham has reappointed unelected life peer Lord Ian Austin as the UK's Trade Envoy to Israel. Fucking hell what a dick.
Spotted my first bullace out in the wild as it were on my local walk this afternoon, think it's too early for them to be ready. There's loads of sloe but only this solitary bullace bush that I spotted.
💯 Time to close those US bases, tax the bejesus out of the US companies and reciprocate.
So all the pathetic crawling up to Donald Trump and the free publicity visit to Lord it with the King have resulted in Britain getting a worse tariff deal than the EU. Time to start standing up to the bully instead of appeasement. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Brilliantly sums up his career path. Moved now so cannot vote there but I'll be cheering Leanne on if she goes up against Weasel in the next GE.
Look Wes the Weasle got a promotion for killing transgender children
Probably another sign of climate change, just had my first foraged blackberries for breakfast. When I was a kid and I'd go with my parents blackberrying sure it was in the early Autumn.
I tend to keep off the sauce in the week but it's a sunny Friday curry later as Mrs B sprang into action earlier so I am in the garden and the first cold can of Neck Oil didn't even touch the sides. №2 it is then.

Listen to what he chooses to emphasise
Yesterdays bake seeing as they're one of Mrs B's favourites. Chilli & Cheese sourdough rolls
Managed some weeks ago to get frozen Musang King from Costco. A bit spendy compared to buying it from a street trader in Penang or direct from the orchard but pretty good and we got our small fix in as it were.
Small wins. Following Mrs B breaking her pelvis and having to spend 6½ weeks in hospital. For the first time since she got back 10 days ago I got her into the car and out for lunch to her favourite Dim Sum place.
Lived for 8 years in Penang it rarely dropped below 32 daytime & 25 night peaks. Mostly apart from nights around CNY when it was drier & a little hotter we didn’t use AC and were out and about most days. Similar temperature in UK and we are inside & wilting. I see AC in my future, luckily got PV.
Exactly, he is a ghastly grifter and an oik.
Number crunching: “Reform is now the party of workers” From the new Private Eye, out now.
Just in case you feel a desire to help with what could possibly be the funniest thing in politics for a while.

Finally yesterday Mrs B is back after a month+ in hospital. If planned on going down to collect her Friday, today I am in for eye treatment so can't drive. Anyhoo she was transported back 126 miles by the NHS. Gawd help us if ever Fatrage or his like gain power.
Goodness there's a shock... Not metro.co.uk/2026/06/30/r... Saving 'are' kids one at a time to his harddrives.

Long day yesterday, charged to 100%, off to see Mrs B who's stuck in hospital 126 miles away, onto the AC chargers at the hospital while visiting. 🤞we get her out soon it's 3 hrs each way. Diverted to see Mum in her home & my brother who is ill. 12 hrs, 280 miles, I needed my pint yesterday eve.
Need to hope the neighbours weren't looking out of their windows at 06:30 as I hung the washing out in just my shreddies. To ruddy hot to get dressed already.
Found some Mugwort on my meander yesterday. Double checked it is similar to Monkshood that's not a mistake you can make more than once 😉 Made some hot chocolate infused with the leaves last night I didn't get any of the psychoactive effects but for the first time in bloody ages did sleep through.
I know the feeling, for my last couple of dental checks / treatment I've done it when I am back in Penang visiting.
And getting an NHS Dr will become as hard as getting a dentist. 15 years I have been waiting for an NHS dentist.
Exactly. Looking at the collapse in the vote of the Liberals, Greens and Conservative an awful lot voted tactically to keep Reform out. That's not any endorsement of Burnham or Labour it's an indictment of FPTP which they need to sort before the GE.
Some people are getting very excited about the "end of Reform" etc after the Makerfield by-election, but Reform still got 35% of the vote. Enough to win a lot of the time. Had Lib dems and Greens not effectively stood down and Restore not run we could have easily seen Burnham beaten.
