There should always be physical *option* for games on console. Even if that's just the game on a USB stick in a box. I really hope this isn't the last console generation of game collections.

The games industry ATM is so weird. Likely new consoles in 27/28 need new games, but it feels like studios are closing all the time. I wonder if back-compat is what they will lean on. What will they do when they have fewer games for launch? We need another Xbox 360 indie games/dev moment.

Personal theory on RAMpocalypse: Sk Hynix gets bought out by a bigger player who needs RAM, (their market cap is lowest of the big 3 manufacturers). If Apple don't get into the DRAM themselves like they did CPUs, I suspect they might buy them to keep their prices and stock 'reasonable' for consumers

The games industry is in such a dire, yet weird state. The industry money is bigger than ever, the new consoles are likely only a few years away, and need for launch titles (which take years to make) is massive... we should be having a hiring and gaming boom. So why are so many studios closing? 🤔

Slightly disappointed that the new Space Precinct Blu-Ray is AI-upscaled, might be Topaz Video AI. I recognise the AI upscaling patterns and the strange sharp straight lines from the blinds and mess-up of badges in this example. It's not a bad upscale, just wish it was a completely new film scan. 😞

The mantra "Survive until '25" had been spoken about in the VFX industry, which has been on its knees as of late. But I think most creative industries won't *start* to improve until at least '26. I do hope I'm wrong. For the game industry, next-gen games consoles can't come soon enough.

I buy a fair amount of tech stuff from Aliexpress, and I'm constantly impressed at how fast things show up and how well packaged they are. Often, it's faster and cheaper to order from there than things I order from within the UK. Crazy.
