I am having understanding. I am hoping my retalling of such information is good. I am not being skilled in magic, I am just knowing what I was taught by the shamans before I left Brigid. We also use markings so the spirits can be protecting us. It is why I am having such markings too.

There is a wisdom to it—we just say those with certain elements have certain traits. Or perhaps having those qualities is what causes one to develop magic. We have perhaps less of an answer than you, as we don’t even have folklore to explain it to agree upon.

I had thought they were being just stories, lessons to be teaching children, but now it has me thinking. Maybe there is being much truth to the stories the shamans speak of. Magic and spirits are really that entwined together?

It is depending on the spirit. In stories that we are taught, some of are being wise and helpful. Ice spirits are being cold like the ice the represent. Fire is being brash and angry, like a flame burning things. Wind spirits - well, they act much like how you are acting.

May I ask what common traits your people associate with those spirits? I am curious to know if it aligns with strongly gifted mages I know.

I am thinking you are being right about that. And by that logic if one is strongly aligned with things like fire and ice, one would be aligned with said spirits as well.

Perhaps it’s a natural inclination if you are strongly aligned with wind, to just be as it.

Sometimes, I am wishing to have your way of thinking. Talking about shaping the future and you still mention naps. ( she shakes her head at that, but there is a smile on her face though ) There is a saying in Brigid. One with the wind. To be as free as wherever the gust of wind takes them.

There’s something to a mentor-mentee relationship, I will say, that mage academies lack. While a center of knowledge is great, some young mages never flourish because they don’t have someone guiding them directly.

+magical element, and it often manifests outside of magic—for example, I can often float without meaning too if I grow distracted.

Magic and I may not get along much, but I am knowing the basics of magic in Brigid. I am understanding that is it gift of the spirits themselves..... ( a pause for a few moments, her brow furrows ) ....or that is being a story my grandfather told me when I was young.

A knight is not merely a warrior. What defines them is the code of chivalry—to serve. Be it a liege or an idea. Some knights, like me, serve a person. Others serve the Goddess, or the idea of aiding the commonfolk, or any number of things.

We are not having knights in Brigid. But we are having warriors of similar repute. Yes, I would be having much gratitude for any books you are having on the subject.
