Re the Fil-C & Zig post: I can imagine a use case that you take an *existing* c/c++ codebase, slap fil-c and declare yourself “safe”. As in “I won’t get the CVEs that this codebase is usually likely to get”. 🧵

Apple are very proud of FaceTime but it’s such a piece of crab software it’s just wild. Basic things like volume control are complete trash. The default is always video. Why? Do people really want to walk around like holding a slice of bread to which they talk to?!

My take is that this is purely an attempt to hype Anthropic before the IPO. If Fable/Mythos are worth suspension, then so was Opus 4.8. Market manipulation from the top.

I slipped today, finally. In a chat with a bot doing refactoring I asked it to rename a file and create a symlink to the original. I asked a computer to multiply matrices couple of thousand times to achieve what is essentially “mv src dst && ln -s dst src”. It’s downhill only from here 😞
SpaceX will need to acquire the equivalent of more than 10% of US Liquid Natural Gas exports to process into methane to support its launches that build an infrastructure that simply burns up in the atmosphere after a few years without any chance at recycling. Methane is a powerful greenhouse gas.
