Last weekend, our community in Edmonton hosted a few young men who wanted to experience the life of the friars for a few days and learn more about religious life with its joys and challenges.
The friars in Montreal celebrating the birthday of Father Regi, pastor of St. Francis of Assisi parish in Montreal. One of the brothers seems uncertain what to make of this, so we are posting two pictures.
Congratulations, Brother Pierre! It will take us some time until it will be natural for us to call you "Monseigneur"!

We will have some help from friends and partners in ministry! This gathering is meant to have a distinct synodal flavor and be open to voices too easily overheard.
As we prepare for Chapter, we'll reflect on what this means for each individual friar, each house in our Canadian province, and our whole province.
"The rule and life of the lesser brothers is this: To observe the holy gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, living in obedience without anything of our own, and in chastity."
In 50 days, the Franciscans of Canada will gather for their next Chapter. It's a time for the brothers to come together and consider where we are and where we need to go.
