Tan et al. demonstrate that flexible human cognition relies on two distinct neural processes: specialized brain regions that handle specific task components, and a distributed cortico-cerebellar network that recombines these components. This finding indicates that the cortico-cerebellar network serves an important role in coordinating complex, generalized cognition across different contexts.
