70s & 80s music, classic cars, obscure music, retro stuff...much much more. Analogue guy in a digital world.

Replaced wipers with all new Bosch. Replaced expansion tank cap. Snipped and re-jubilee clipped expansion hoses. Fixed rear wash wipe water pipe. DAB Bluetooth head unit fitted. New car mats fitted. Interior cleaned. Just need to sort a bit of cosmetics now. Labour of love is Frank. Love him!

Jobs to do before FOTU. 1. Change expansion tank and pipes 2. Oil and air filter change 3. Dab Bluetooth radio install (done) 4. Remove a small dent. 5. Present Frank to the good people of FOTU. 6. Reflect on an epic battle to get here, finally, with a modern classic. 7. See some Blue sky chums!

Update on Frank. Sat with the engine running after covering a fair few miles these last few days. On today or all days, my birthday, it decides to overheat. Luckily the temp gauge was normal, and on inspection, seems like a new pressure cap required for the expansion tank. No head gasket smells 🤞

The more I drive Frank, the better he gets. Just had breakfast with my old mate and he was quite taken with Frank. Sure he's not perfect, bit of lacquer peel here and there..but a solid honest car which has very little to go wrong but all the stuff you need. Aircon, elec windows, twin airbags.👍

Well....I've been looking for a replacement for Genevieve. After spending alot of time carefully choosing a new steed, I've bought this today. Step forward a very clean, solid MK1 Ford Focus 1.6 LX. Absolutely love it. Forgot how well they drive. And you'll meet Frank at FOTU.

"Car of the Day" time and today we're heading to the USSR for their crack at "doing a Skoda" which sadly didn't have the impact they hoped for. I present to you, the Lada Samara. 5/10 from me for effort but still a million miles off even Skoda with their Favourit.

Call yourself a classic car guy? Meet the idiot who tonight has... 1. Dropped his beer 2. That he was having with his tea (which he also dropped) 3. Plans to remove headlights and fit LEDs only to put it all back and find they're in the wrong bulb hole. FFS... you had 3 jobs man... What a day.

"Car of the Day" time again and for those of us who've owned one, a big soft spot for this model.BTCC legend, great handling on the road and changed the rules for the modern saloon. This was the special one though. The Nissan Primera 2.0 eGT. Amazing cars to drive. Rare as hens teeth now. 9.5/10

"Car of the Day" and we're visiting a car that used to be a car you saw every day on the roads. A former British institution, now a Stellantis afterthought. The 1.9 cdti was often nicknamed The Disastra for it's eating of clutch and flywheels. I give you the Vauxhall Astra V (or H for the Opel) 6/10
