Where does it go from here? Is it down to the lake I fear? Ay-yah-yah-yah. Dave Griffiths. Newspaper sub (print). Used to make Barmcake magazine.

Anyway, The Odyssey. Greek gods - tossers, with shite rules (eg cows on an island). Longed for the brevity of Jason & The Argonauts, even with the teak actors & dialogue.

Dip into The Times Pt 2. 'Flat Front Chinos. Only £60 each. Flat front for a neater, slimmer silhouette... year-round trouser...they go from smart to casual in the change of a shoe...plus clever expanding waistband.' God knows I'm not fashionable, but look at the state of these keks. SIXTY QUID.

Rare excursion into The Times. Who's coming? Mikey looks like he's doing a Tommy Cooper trick. Surely Secretary of State shouldn't be at the start? Thinking of Twigg's thrilled little face in '97 election.

'The Michael Portillo Show. Nov 2026. New 2027 dates added. Secretary of State. Traveller. Tv superstar. Join Michael as he shares funny, insifgtful, poignant stories from his extraordinarily rich and varied life.'

Saw someone dancing to a blues tune tonight (a backwards-forwards step with steam train arm movements). I was very impressed. My dancing is based on the shoegaze shuffle with a bit of mashed potato/breaststroke for 60s stuff and miming (Whole of the Moon - mime the Moon)

Interesting to notice the difference between Barnsley & Doncaster. The former is thriving. The latter, well, some nice pubs - Doncaster Tap, Draughtsman, Little Plough, The Queen - but don't go in The Hallcross. One of those barmen who thinks he's better than the customers (two people in).

Checked when Odyssey was on and the engine of search came up with this - estate agent gets into a bit of bother with shady sorts. Of course, in a huge fox pas (as Basil Brush once said), I'd forgotten the The.

Pic of Polly Maberly, star of Odyssey (2025) and part of blurb - 'lives every day on the verge of success - or ruin'

Bobbins clickbaitery. Ed Miliband was, of course, lead singer of folk-rock pioneers Massive Plough before winning Strictly for three years in a row and inventing herbs.
