Thank you to everyone who came out and made this another great Sunday with the community! 🖤
Hi, all, it’s been a while! I assure you we are still out here and have been staying busy trying to help community members meet their needs.
A friend & street kitchen regular has hit a rough patch & needs help to make rent! He's an incredible organizer who has done so much for street kitchen since we moved to Walnut Hill in November, including welcoming us to the neighborhood & helping us build a strong relationship with the community.

If you are looking for a mutual aid distro to spend a weekend day with, just let us know
We clock in as we always do, and then when we clock out, we get back to work. We do it tired, we do it scared, we do it after we put the kids to bed and get the bills paid. We spend one weekend day at the mutual aid distro, instead of two weekend days at the bar. We have to. That's it
One of our longtime members needs our support! Addison is a passionate ally who has given so much of her time & resources to the community over the years. It would be amazing if we could give back & help her with costs as she fights cancer. Thank you for your support www.gofundme.com/f/help-addis...
Our winter coat drive is back! Starting Monday November 24th running until January 5th, we're working with @legendcomicsandcoffee to collect cold weather gear for our neighbors. We're looking for clean, lightly used or new coats, gloves, hats, scarves, blankets and other cold weather supplies.
Hello Omaha! The weekly OAA Street Kitchen is moving to a new location. Starting Sunday November 2nd, Kitchen and distro will be at Walnut Hill Park by 38th and Hamilton every Sunday from 2-3. Tomorrow will be a little celebration, and we hope to see some of y'all there!
First of all we want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who's donated their time, supplies, or funds in the last week. It's greatly appreciated and we're on track to continue our normal request schedule! Without our community we wouldn't be able to do what we do.
Hi, we need your help. One of the things that sets OAA apart from many other mutual aid projects is our request process. It's something that we believe in very strongly, as it gives some of our most disenfranchised neighbors agency and autonomy.
Thank you to Urban Abbey for partnering with us on this! Drop off donations at Urban Abbey before November 16.
The temperatures have been more bearable the last few weeks, but with the increase in sweeps and pressure from police, demand is as high as ever.
We’ve been busy at Street Kitchen this summer! Here's a lil recap of the last couple months: July was HOT. In addition to our usual supplies at kitchen, a few members went around the community to distribute water and electrolytes to folks who needed it.
OAA had the pleasure of meeting with Urban Abbey's youth group for a second time recently. We had great conversations about the spectrum from charity to mutual aid, heard some absolutely inspired ideas for mutual aid projects, and put together at least 30 care packages, each featuring incredible
We need your help! Toiletries are a huge need at Street Kitchen, and we try to have as many as we can every week for people to take. Personal hygiene is a basic necessity that everyone deserves access to. Let's help make that access possible!

Despite the heat, the past two weeks have been busy! We got to share smoked chicken, a few different salads, and plenty of snacks and sides with our neighbors.
It’s been too long since our last update, but we’ve stayed busy! So, here’s a little catch up post: Street Kitchen been going strong so far this year. This winter, you all really showed up for our coat drive!
Despite the heat and the wind, we still had a busy Street Kitchen this week! We were able to share 150 chicken drum sticks, 50 servings of salad, some rice and beans, and plenty of snacks and water with our neighbors! Thanks to everyone who helps make this possible every week.
Thank you!! We run two weekly distributions and a monthly distribution. Trying to do better about posting here while most of our irl community is on insta but here is a summary! Thank you for your time! @omahaautonomous.bsky.social does similar work in Omaha
Distro update: Everett Free Grocery Program! It was the sunniest distro in a while, and the community turned out! Unfortunately, our usual food suppliers fell through, so it was our community pool that got food on the tables this week. A meeting about community care and direct aid followed distro!
Distro update: Lincoln Community Care! LCC had the sunniest and warmest distro in a while yesterday, and that brought out friends and neighbors on both sides of the distro line. We welcomed some new faces! We distributed food, hygiene, blankets, warm layers, and shoes to 50+ neighbors!
It was incredible to be a part of this! Attendees asked a ton of keen and thoughtful questions, and we walked away from the workshop with new ideas and new relationships. Thank you EFGP and LCC, and just as many thanks to our fantastic hosts at Rooted Books & Gifts and the people of the Tri-Cities!
Yesterday, a neighboring community invited members of Everett Free Grocery Program, Lincoln Community Care, and Omaha Autonomous to about our experiences in MA organizing, answer some questions, work through some brainstorming, chat, & distribute lit!
