@mynameisbyf.bsky.social Was fighting the Compiler and noticed these chambers open up to emit the green damage phase bubbles. Inside are what appear to be the organs of a (living?) compiler. Were these here before this compiler arrived? Are these why it's on the Marathon? Am I way off the mark?

I have too many bad things to say about Bungie and nothing but love for the devs. The people there doing the work are responsible for some of the most inspirational experiences in games. Destiny was a troubled IP, but damn did it have heart. The layoffs today are a disgrace.
If Sony ends up closing Bungie, it will be one of the most embarrassing things I've ever seen from such a large company. Especially in a time when SWtOR and the Division 2 are getting substantial updates. What a mythic fumble.
I can't believe Destiny 2's final update is probably its best update ever. So many glaring issues so simply wiped away in a single patch, like it could've been that way the whole time. I mourn for what could've been. I will be playing.
Imagining a timeline in which the Destiny series wasn't utterly mismanaged. Probably woulda be a really good time.
Every D&D party has a chaotic camping story. Share your favourite TTRPG memory in the comments! 🏕️
The D&D group has successfully escaped the time-lost city with weapons capable of harming the gods. Their trespass was so dire that it tore the sky, and the Godhead regurgitated stolen swaths of time and history back into the material plane. The sky is dim and tsunamis sweep the oceans.
Party starts at the dungeon entrance. Spends 3.5 hours doing anything but going in. Discuss potentially traveling to a different region entirely instead of going in. In the last hour, they finally enter. They spend 10 minutes inside, get scared, teleport out. They are level 17. I love them.
Finally settling on the right ADHD meds I think. The signs: after years of putting it off, I made a world map and a regional map for my D&D campaign, as well as configured the models for the 2 BBEGS in heroforge. From years of never, to days and done.
Great news everyone that is realizing they shouldn't buy from DriveThruRPG! You can buy basically all of the same games on itch and put a lot more money in the creator's pocket while doing so.
My D&D party is trapped in the future. The world is ended. There is only cold and ice. An undead wolf, a now 10k year old friend, will guide them to the fey realm. The last guttering light in a dead world. There they must compel the memory of an old fey, that they may step back into their time.

Bungie Stealing ‘Marathon’ Art Is Probably The Last Straw
Marathon developer Bungie has been accused of, and has now admitted to, stealing artwork used in the current build of Marathon from an artist who first published the work in 2017.

Are there any TTRPGs with combat that focuses on stacking reactions, kinda like how Magic: the Gathering plays out?

bungie is of course not obligated to hire me when making a game that draws overwhelmingly from the same design language i have refined for the last decade, but clearly my work was good enough to pillage for ideas and plaster all over their game without pay or attribution.
the Marathon alpha released recently and its environments are covered with assets lifted from poster designs i made in 2017. @bungie.net @marathonthegame.bungie.net
Today, my beloved D&D group will clash with the big bad who's hiding in the distant future. Then, villain that I am, I will remove their means of returning to their time. Pray to your gods for their survival (and also mine cause they are gonna try to kill me once the yelling is over).
Still freaking out over the last D&D session and the upcoming one. This is one of those adventures where sooo many questions are answered all at once and it leaves everyone's brains melted after they connect the dots. Man, there's nothing more satisfying.
I don't know that I've seen anything more corporate than the Destiny 2 Renegades teaser. Eververse was already bad enough. I can only assume that Destiny will continue to be an interactive billboard for other IPs after it launches.
I'm not sold on Marathon's gameplay yet but omfg I am on my knees begging for more of the schizo-corporate hell that was that narrative trailer. Insidious as much as it is colorful. Some of the most mentally haunted shit I've seen in a while. Like Senua's Saga was required reading for the devs, jc.
Last year, I reported that Bungie had fired former exec Chris Barrett for misconduct. Barrett then sued for wrongful termination, which surprised me given that I'd seen his texts to subordinates and figured Bungie could publish them in response. Which they now have. www.scribd.com/document/830...
If I had to guess, I would say Bungie is 10% stories like "OMG, they did it, they dodged Bankruptcy!" and 90% "Management is comprised of idiots and predators as more victims come forward." There's just no good news left. I hope all the good folks trapped there manage to find better work soon.
NEW: Sony has finally responded--aggressively--to the December lawsuit filed by a Bungie veteran who said he was fired so they could get out of paying him $45 million They deny claims of a "sham" investigation and share texts between him and female employees www.gamefile.news/p/sony-bungi...
Question for the ttrpg folks. Monsters and magic came to the world because of an ancient deity's death. Other deities that exist are essentially shards of this dead deity. The moon is one of their eyes. A desert nation is seeded with their crystallized blood. What happens when they're revived?
One of the nightmares I gave one of my players in our most recent D&D session. It's weird and ugly. Felt gross writing this. For some context, the players are receiving the local BBEG's dreams each long rest. They're slowly piecing together what the dreams mean.
Oh wow, Bungie brought back cool-guy Winnower. I don't think I have the patience to put up with Bungie's bs for another year, let alone ten, but eeyyyy cool-guy Winnower is back
