Angela was absolutely right. I was 32, had just moved into my first apartment. I didn’t have cable, so I got Netflix for $7.99/mo (back when they had some damn sense lol). And Murder, She Wrote was the first thing that came up on my suggestions. I can still watch it all day.

Angela Lansbury, forecasting the lasting and widespread appeal of Murder, She Wrote in the NY Times five months before the pilot even aired:

The show is designed to be presented on Saturday evenings, and Miss Lansbury says emphatically, "I know there is a public for it.!
"If you're home on Saturday night and want to watch something, you're very limited in what you can see," she says. "This show is meant for that audience of people over 30. I love the kids, and I hope they'll come along, but this show is not for them. They're out Saturday night punk rocking or watching MTV in another room.
But let me tell you, in time we're going to get the kids, too, because they also love a good yarn. Everyone does."
