Day 21: Organic. I always struggle with this prompt, or ones like it. I find it challenging in this medium and at this scale to not just make yet another fish-like ship. Ultimately that's exactly what I wound up doing, but I do like the result: a $3 luxury cruiser. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 20: Creative Freedom #2. I'm now 2/3 of the way through designs for a new, budget-friendly #LEGO tabletop wargame. Here's another $2 destroyer for the red fleet. Day 19: Armored. My first draft was too long and didn't look particularly heavy. I'm much more pleased with this shorter, bulkier build. But it's 10¢ cheaper than other cruisers; I just couldn't find a way to make it match in value without compromising the look! #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

More progress on RX-124 Gundam TR-6 [Haze'n-thley II-Rah]. At this point the body is complete apart from the hands. Next up is the shoulder equipment including two beam cannons, then the two handheld long blade rifles. Fantastically tall and imposing for a HG kit, if a bit delicate of a build.

Day 18: Angular. I figured this suited the red fleet best, and I wanted to give it another $3 cruiser, this time with a torpedo launcher. I considered a 45° rotation of the sharp, angled pieces, but didn't want it to look too similar to day 15. I like the result. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 17: Variant. Having replaced the build from day 4, I figured this was a good opportunity to repurpose the original hull. I adjusted the prow to better match later designs, differing slightly if the destroyer is armed with paired cannons or an energy weapon. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 16: Green. I wasn't happy with my build for day 4; it just didn't look experimental enough. So I decided to redo it, and wound up with this $2 destroyer drone. It has a more delicate and unusual energy weapon, drawing power directly from the ship's engine. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 15: Luxurious. Another $2 neutral ship. Rather than going for something ostentatious, I wanted the sleek elegance of a limousine combined with a hypercar. The result is a sort of Batmobile, and out of scale, but I love how the dark tan looks against black. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

In regions with high pirate activity and low Authority presence (which usually go hand-in-hand), the local Legion will organize outfits to escort merchant ships along their routes. Day 14: Asymmetry. Back to the blue fleet with a $2 torpedo destroyer. Took me a while to develop this as I hadn't really established a style for this faction. So in the process I went back and redid the corvette, giving both irregular color patches and stripes. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 13: Carrier. My first capital ship for this project, at just under $4. An evolution of this fleet's cruiser, with twin engines and a hangar bay including transparent light blue plates. The smaller craft it launches are too small to depict at this scale. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 12: Slender/Thin. For this destroyer I used a plate w/ ring (4081b) to give it a long, thin energy weapon in its prow. Figuring out how to connect it to the rest of the hull took some doing, and it didn't look great until I added the generators and heat sinks. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 11: Dropship. Another $2 neutral ship, this one a heavy lander for your fleet to escort. The underside has ablative armor for atmospheric reentry. That led to an unusual bar+clip approach to the centerline and flight stand connection. Nice to try something new! #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 8: Red. Given that there are three color prompts in the list I'm using, I decided early on to make a fleet in each color. Had a blast at #PAXWest with the best lineup of games in recent memory. A Tiny Wander, Brewhaha, Brigador Killers, Culdcept Begins, and Stepwell all stood out in particular. The artist's hub was a fantastic addition, too—we bought a ton of prints! I also met a rat in an alley for some string cheese.

I backed it! You probably should, too. In addition to the cloth trows themselves, there are lots of other fantastic, adorable critters available individually or in handy bundles. Skreks! Craas! Dugs! A perfect time to dive into the Habernagerie.

Day 7: Mining. Another $2 neutral ship, not exclusive to any one faction. I could've made a static bit of terrain, but I thought it'd be fun to have an asteroid tug. It's clamped down onto a valuable bit of ore, with the fleet protecting it en route to processing. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 6: Curved. That's already been the theme for this faction, so here's the first cruiser at $3. Some similar design elements, now with nacelles and a split prow. Very reminiscent of UCM ships from Dropfleet Commander. Tricky to find a good render angle, though! #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day 5: Probe/Drone. This one came about while working on yesterday's build. I was going for something sleek, but when I flipped the upper hull around I liked the stubbier prow. This is a combat drone, and the wand isn't an antenna but rather a delicate weapon. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26

Day one of PAX West (Prime) was great. Thought up a new LEGO tabletop wargame on the way there, and a new card game on the way back. Oh, and saw a bunch of cool stuff and bought way too much excellent merch. #PAXWest

Day 4: Experimental. A $2 destroyer, and the first ship of my third faction. This one was a real struggle. I wanted an advanced prototype rather than something cobbled together. But I nothing was working until I flipped a design backwards and built from there. #LEGO #Spaceshiptember #SST #SST26
