Need to take a bit of a break from here for a bit... Look after the place whilst I'm gone, won't you, and don't forget to use the coasters.

@cerysmatthews.bsky.social We visited the sea organ in Zadar on a warm Autumn evening back in 2022 - it's really quite magical isn't it?
The bravery of these fire crews is beyond words
Tremendo vídeo. No hay dinero que pueda pagar a esta gente. Gracias.
The current spate of wildfires across the country and the tinder-dry state of Dartmoor has made me reflect on some of the incidents I attended. No exaggeration to say that some wildfires were amongst the most physically draining and dangerous jobs I turned out to in the 7 years I was on the run...
I'm not exaggerating when I say that so far this summer is a sloppy epidemic of utterly shit AI generated posters and flyers in these parts. Everything from dog shows, gigs, Sunday Roast specials at the pub, to quiz nights. All with that creepy funfair style too. Someone make it stop, please...
Not mentioning any names but SOMEONE just got themselves into a bit of a pickle and had to be rescued... 8 months in and that whole "most intelligent breed" thing has clearly not kicked in as yet... he's genuinely daft as a brush.

Juliettes at Ashburton Arts Centre on Saturday absolutely smashed it, as did their support, the super-funky Dam. Lovely to see so many of their mates turn out to support them and having an absolute ball. A fabulous evening, even if there was a bit of dust in the air at points for us parents...
On a positive note, that half time show has probably done more for European unity than the Treaty of Versailles.

So, somehow this is happening next Saturday... A fab night of music from young Dartmoor musicians from folky Americana to funk and soul and bittersweet indie guitar pop bangers. Tickets now available online - do come along if you can. The kids are alright... wegottickets.com/f/24010
A customer, who we no longer work for, requires me to do a GDPR training course in order for them to temporarily re-enable my access to a single Sharepoint folder to transfer data they forgot to ask us for in the first place... <sighs>
We've lived here 16 years and I don't think I've ever seen Dartmoor as dry as it is right now. A brisk drying easterly wind today which is forecast to continue for the next few days, and is just going to make it even more of a tinderbox than it already is.
As of Saturday we have an e-bike in the household. Of course I've given it a ride (purely for safety and research purposes) and now fear I may be having a Dylan at Newport Folk Festival moment...

Ben Howard at Eden Sessions last night was pretty special. New songs sounding great but also playing stuff from Every Kingdom which I don't think he's played live for years. Magical. Bonus of gigs at Eden is that at night you feel like you're visiting some strange and remote off world colony...

Nothing says 'man of the people' quite like a politician calling a by-election at public expense on the issue of whether or not he should have the right to secretly take donations from Thai-based crypto billionaires and a convicted fraudster
Back on Dartmoor feeling discombobulated after brief work trip to London yesterday. I remember @notquitelight.bsky.social talking about high-rise developments "stealing the sky" in Manchester. I think there's a very strong sense of that in London at the moment too, particularly around Broadgate.
