The Short-eared owl from this morning WWT slimbridge at the Shepards hut. It gave some fabulous views, it’s my second time seeing one in Glos since 2019 and I have only seen 4-5 other SEO ever, so was the main highlight of the day. #GlosBirds

A few shots from WWT Slimbridge this morning. Nice to see the White-Spotted Bluethroat briefly this morning, and Glos year ticked Common swift x22. Also, Greenshank x4, Ruff x5, Spotted redshank, Reed bunt x2, GBBG, Com Sandpiper, Buzzard, Kestrel, Com pochard x2. #GlosBirds

Some shots from today in Alvor: Checked the Cliffs for Alpine swifts, no luck but did have 3 Black redstarts. Also, Whimbrel x55+, Barwitt, Booted eagle, Hoopoe, Gannet, Crested lark x3, White wagtail, Iberian magpie x9.

Some shots from today in Faro: No lifers today but did have a nice encounter with a pair of Swamphens with 3 chicks, also nice to see a Booted eagle after a few years. Also, Little Bittern, Spoonbill x16, Audouins x15+, Hoopoe x8, Wryneck x2 (heard), Peregrine, Whimbrel x110+!

Sharpness: High tide (08:07-10:30) Chuffed to see my 2nd ever drake Common Scoter as it drifted up on the high tide. Also,Common Sandpiper, Redshank x23, Curlew, Kingfisher, Little egret, Wigeonx15, Tealx2, GSW, Chiffchaff x11, Oystercatcher x5, Reed bunt, Rpipit. #GlosBirds

#RSPBGreylake today The Merlin briefly came close, also a Male Bullfinch in the car park, also a pair of Bearded tits. Also, Sprawk, Kestrel x3, Buzzard x4, Water rail x2, Cranes (heard distantly), Cetti’s warbler x2, Great egret, Little egret x2.
