Some reports linked Ray to the Astros. But I never put much stock in them considering that Ray would undoubtedly break out in hives when he's near Yordan Alvarez.

Waking up to the news of the Skubal trade. The Dodgers almost have too many good prospects and have to trade some to make their roster work, even for a rental. As always, the big thing in baseball is to have young cost-controlled stars or potential stars. Bigger than money.

Nootbaar is somebody I've been interested in for the Astros for a good while now. Low BA. But double digit walk rates (14.1% this year; 12.9% career). Slug has declined in recent years. Good sized platoon splits. Good defensive numbers A clear upgrade.
