This should be impossible. What delights one editor should repulse another. This is healthy and natural. But that's not what we see happening. Instead there's one type of story that, catnip-like, every editor can't resist, so predictable that it can literally be algorithmically generated.

A word about this in online policy spaces. This shows up in Trust & Safety / platform policy, and I'm convinced it's one of the more pernicious policy mistakes. Impact is more reliable to read than intent, but some go so far as to ignore intent completely (maybe carving out a list of exceptions).

“Intent doesn’t matter only the outcome does.” be an adult. Intent actually does matter, quite a lot. Intent and the outcome are both equally important. Stop death of the authoring your friends. You’re adults. Act like it!
