while i don't think that copying another artist's work 1:1 for "trends" is on the same level of AI, there needs to be a serious discussion about stealing/copying and treating other artists and their work as "inspo"/turning their work into unwelcome trends they didn't consent to in the art community

thinking about the popularity of so many "redraw trends" and plagiarism of compositions by all sorts of artists (it comes up often for gposing but 2D artists do it too). i have to sum up my discomfort with it as follows: it's artists treating other artists the same way A/I treats art as data
