Fit and finish is the difference between "printed" and "well made." Same design, same stock, same binding — but look closely. Wire tension, cover alignment, trim consistency. The details tell the story. Your reader might not notice good finishing. They'll always notice bad finishing.

When the illustration IS the book, print quality can't be an afterthought. Color accuracy, paper weight, binding that lets the pages breathe — it all has to serve the art. This is what we love printing.

Sometimes the simplest cover makes the strongest impression. Kraft stock with white foil — no lamination, no gloss, just texture and contrast. Not every book needs a busy cover to stand out on the table.

Wire-O binding is underrated. It lays completely flat, which is exactly what you need for a course book or planner — something people actually use with their hands busy. If your book is meant to be worked in, not just read, Wire-O is worth considering.

Choosing paper for your book? A quick guide: • Uncoated (cream/white) — novels, poetry, text-heavy books • Coated matte — photo books, art books, portfolios • Coated gloss — children's picture books, cookbooks The paper is half the reading experience. Choose with intention.

📖 Self-publishing tip: Your interior margins matter more than you think. The gutter (inner margin) needs extra width — especially for perfect-bound books. Safe starting point: • Gutter: 0.75"–0.875" • Outer: 0.5"–0.625" Your readers will thank you.
