I love old school flyers for arcade games that were intended to sell new machines to operators, so they’re hyping up how money you’ll make. “A good earner” applies to dudes on the Sopranos and 90’s Midway video games

I love visiting a retro game store with a friend who’s the right balance of geek enough to be engaged in my rambling but enough of a normie to not be aware of Criticom and Brutal Paws of Fury so they’re hearing about them for the first time.

Headless Horsemen Arcade here in Chicago closed this weekend. A real shame, the place was awesome. We have some rad barcades, and of course Galloping Ghost, but I loved Headless for being a pure arcade that was big but not quite as jam packed and overwhelming as GGA. RIP! 🫡

Say what you will about the 32x fighter Cosmic Carnage but the story mode setup is kinda neat. The premise is it’s a bunch of aliens fighting on a space station for one last escape pod and the game is timed. If you win but take too long you go to escape…but the base blows up and you’re DEAD! 🤷‍♀️

for whatever reason I don't think about or talk up Halo as one of my favorite video game franchises but every couple of years when I play one I'm reminded that, oh right, Halo games are super awesome. Digging this remake.

One of the weird things about Halo is the lore is self serious and fans will hear a Cortana line with a different inflection and be like “this changes her personality and ruins the remake” but when you actually play the alien and soldier dialogue is silly and out of a 90’s Rare game or something
