He/him. Tangata Tiriti. Politics, music, TV, food, law, the weird shit my kids do, eat the rich etc. Lawyer but not the bad kind. Disgraced former eye surgeon.

1/ I've done quite a bit of work in relation to the FTA, including the unfair contract terms regime introduced in 2015. This article underlines a long-standard concern I have with the apparent right of health insurers to vary their terms unilaterally: www.stuff.co.nz/health/36101...

I'm watching in germany. The German commentators kept quiet for nearly the whole thing until suddenly the shot widened and we just hear with a German accent, "Oh, Miss Piggy"

I wonder what washed up celebrity or mediocre ex-athlete the National Party will offer up as a candidate. I'm sure they won't want to be left out. Plenty of suitable options out there - Clint Brown, Martin Devlin, Mark Richardson, Maria Folau if she can be tempted back across the ditch. #NZPol

I will never forget how angry my Mum got when I was 8 and told her she looked like Penelope Keith in The Good Life (a show which, inexplicably, seemed to always be on TV in NZ in the 1980s between episodes of M*A*S*H and Country Calendar). RIP, queen! www.stuff.co.nz/culture/3609...

Penelope Keith, star of classic British sitcom 'The Good Life,' dies at 86

Penelope Keith, a comic performer who shone as flinty but loveable upper-crust characters in British sitcoms “The Good Life” and “To the Manor Born,” has died aged 86.

I wish this government would get on with the much more important work of banning credulous adults from social media. My auntie who wants to get "unvaccinated". My ex-colleague who retrained as a reiki healer. The guy from high school who says "Taxcinda" without a shred of irony. #NZPol

How about government ministers who mislead the public? Because he sure does like to spread misinformation about climate change, immigration, public health, LGBTQIA+ issues, journalism, the March 15 attack and so on. #NZPol www.stuff.co.nz/politics/360...

Winston Peters says government officials who mislead ministers should be ‘put in prison’

The foreign minister says government officials who mislead ministers should be “put in prison”.

LinkedIn is a wasteland of AI evangelism now. It doesn't matter how useful the service is if it's provided by companies who can't cover their costs, unsustainably monopolise resources, steal IP and degrade the environment. It's hard to see it as anything other than a horrifyingly wasteful bubble.

My Standard 3 teacher 1. Put "Lego" in a spelling test even though it's a brand. 2. Insisted it was "Leggo". That's pasta sauce, dumbass. 3. Refused to concede when I brought Lego to school to show her. 4. Summoned my parents to school for failing to respect her authority. Fuck you, Mrs. Amos.

Vector's scheduled 8 hour outage just wasn't inconvenient enough to the hundreds of households in our neighbourhood (including us) so they have graciously extended it by an extra 2.5 hours on 30 minutes' notice giving no time to plan for an evening without power. Absolutely fucking useless.

Remember when National had a few MPs who actually had some critical thinking skills? Getting sucked into the AI bubble is the clearest evidence yet that NZ is being run as a failing corporation. It's not magic, no matter how many over-leveraged tech companies might want you to believe that. #NZPol
