Adventures by bike. Keen long distance cyclist (Audax) with a bit of parkrun for fun.

Egham Orbit #parkrun yesterday to get our E with a few other club members. A fairly confusing course, 3 laps, 3 laps, and almost 2. 😳 Ran well, but not well enough, my daughter beat me fair and square for the first time I’m very proud A full list of excuses is available if you have a spare 3hours.

A trip to Harrow Lodge #parkrun yesterday after dropping our daughter off nearby for a scout camp. A nice one lap course on mixed terrain, but it was very warm, and my back wasn’t happy. Although since having the mri and finding why I’m more tolerant to the pain.

More tourism this morning. I should have been in Port Talbot for a lay over on a 1000km bike ride, but my back isn’t up to it, so rather than waste the hotel and time off decided to have a cheeky weekend in S. Wales. Swansea Bay #parkrun was stunning, but very hot and congested, over 700 runners

A bit more local than Scotland for this mornings #parkrun tourism. The interesting Northala Fields. Really nice course, flat and great Marshalls. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Bit more #parkrun tourism this morning getting another letter closer to my alphabeteer. Queen’s was a lovely park, but brutally hilly. Now to to do some sightseeing before a trip on the Waverley tomorrow morning.

Morning #parkrun people. As part of my mini breakdown, and quitting my job I got my ear pierced (2nd hole, 30years since my first piercing) and thought I get a pr related earring, but there is nothing about. Any recommendations? What shouts pr to you

Markshall #parkrun this morning to tick off another Essex pr for my PIED challenge. Lovely 5Km around an Arboretum. Really nice conditions great group of runners and lovely Marshalls. Decent coffee as well. My 71st parkrun, 43rd location Happy 1 millionth parkrun weekend.

Wickford Memorial #parkrun this morning for my 70th. Another Essex parkrun ticked off towards getting my PIED - parkruns in Essex done. Had a stressful week after quitting my job after 19yrs and getting, so with the heat i set my sights on 6:40 pace, and came in just under so very happy.

On Saturday my eldest and I headed to Walton Promenade #parkrun to meet some club mates for her 50th parkrun and 25th location. It was a lovely place, but the lack of shade and temps made for a slow run. Today she ran the local 10km, which started at 11am. It was 🥵 I’m so proud of her

Panshanger #parkrun. That was a hard earnt P and another Hertfordshire run ticked off. Went out too quick, hot, rough, back hurt… All the excuses. Good crowd, lovely Marshalls and a nice route (apart from the hills)

Ok, it’s #parkrun eve, where are we all off to. Physio says I can run so it’s off to Panshanger tomorrow, my current NENDY. I have a busy weekend so staying local is perfect and it gives me a P for my alphabet.

More #parkrun tourism this morning. We found out late last night a new parkrun was starting near where I had to drop my daughter off at a scout camp, bargin. Our 1st inaugural event. Highly recommend Thorney Bay Beach on Canvey Island. Flat, out and back along the sea wall, but on 2 levels. Love it

Fantastic #parkrun at Dover Waterfront. Considering I’ve not run for for a month and not done any exercise since my accident at Easter I’m well chuffed with the time. Perfect conditions and great Marshalls helped. Highly recommend

Gonna attempt a #parkrun tomorrow (back is still very unhappy but Physio said it’ll be ok to try), I’m volunteering at a National Audax event in Kent, so Dover Waterfront here I come. It’ll be my first parkrun in a month and my first D 😀 Wish me luck. Where are you off to tomorrow ?

It’s #parkrun Eve and I’m broken. Last weekends crash is gonna stop me ridding and running for a while. So I’ve volunteered at my local, Harlow. My first go at time keeping. Where are you off to ?

Well the weekend didn’t go as planned. While riding the Easter Arrow (a 400km Audax event to York) I hit a pot hole in the dark 230km in and went down hard. It took my team mates half an hour to get the bike useable again and we rode the next 170km, but I am pretty beat up. Rest for me for now.

Fulham Palace #parkrun done straight after the 100mile London Lockdown charity ride. Great night, but it took its toll on my back (which I’m having physio on) and the run was crap. It’s a 3 lap course and I jogged, walked jogged. Plus side course and weather were stunning and I now have an F

It’s #parkrun eve. Planning to do Fulham Palace tomorrow for my F…. After riding London Lockdown, which is 100miles over night. Ride starts at 21:30 and 350 have signed up so it should be a laugh. Where’s everyone else running ?
