Pastblast: A watercolor piece from 2010, titled "Morning Kit". This one was an ACEO-sized painting, 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" - a very popular size and art movement at the time.

Pastblast: Something from the "Sweet Treats" cookbook published back in 1998. This was the illustration accompanying the recipe for "Mississippi Mud," a brownie-like cake with marshmallow-creme topping and a fudge-like frosting. Marsha decided to go for the Becky Thatcher look for this recipe.

Pastblast: From our 2015 Faux Pas calendar: Randy helping Cindy cool off during a lazy hot afternoon.

Pastblast: From 2018: I turned an action sketch of Megan from Tales of the ShadowWood into this animation-style cel painting titled "To the Rescue!" The background is a watercolor painting, while Megan was inked and painted on clear acetate and placed over the background.

WIP: Work continues on updating the Rt. 66 artwork for the cookbooklet. Here, I've made a few improvements on the colors and contrasts, as BJ and Marsha share the treasures they've found in a well-stocked flea market somewhere on the Mother Road.

Pastblast: from 2021: this was a hand-painted animation-style cel of a two-footed Dusk, placed over a watercolor background, showing her toweling herself off after a refreshing summertime dip in a pool at the base of a waterfall.

Pastblast: Marsha wears period garb in a Renaissance garden, holding a bit of rosemary in quiet remembrance per Ophelia's observation in Shakespeare's Hamlet."Rosemary for Remembrance" was a gouache painting done in 2008.

Pastblast: Resharing a small mixed-media painting from a while back. In "Nap Buddies", Dusk finds herself in the strangest situations at GMSA, not realizing Pippi would someday become one of her best friends. (Yet another strange situation....)

Pastblast: With all the hoopla about the upcoming soccer competitions, this seemed like a good time to re-share this artwork from 2018. In this piece which I finished out digitally, Marsha is portrayed on the soccer field kicking the winning goal.

Pastblast: Once in a while, I actually paint humans! This gouache painting titled "Greenwood Contemplation" was completed back in 2005.

Sketchtime: Sharing some more artwork from the planned Rt. 66 cookbooklet, this time with Marsha and BJ making a stop at an iconic motel on the Mother Road.

One my earliest wildlife paintings from about 2012: a portrait of a wolf, painted in acrylic on a wooden plaque - one of a number of wood plaque pieces I did at the time.

Pastblast: From our 2016 Faux Pas calendar: Randy demonstrates for Cindy a favorite human pastime, listening to music together. With the headphones being the size they are, the foxes had to make appropriate, somewhat cuddly accommodations.

Pastblast: "Pilot of The Airwaves," inspired by the song of the same name, and a tribute to my own relationship with the transistor radios of my youth. Here a teenaged Marsha calls in a request to her favorite late-night DJ.

Pastblast: Re-sharing a wildlife piece from a number of years back: a simple portrait of a gray fox.

Pastblast: Resharing a popular print from 2008: "Castle Guard," a combination watercolor/gouache painting of an armed Scottish vixen who is ready and able to defend her keep.

Pastblast: "Apple Dragon" was a gouache painting completed in 1997 and sold at conventions as a print, and it remains one of our more popular pieces. Marsha and BJ have some fun visiting a Renaissance Fair in costume, and BJ teases Marsha with a dragon puppet that wants Marsha's candied apple!

Pastblast: Something from our 2014 Faux Pas calendar: Cindy walks in on the cats having a discussion about preferences, and is curious as to what it's about. Dusk thinks she has some idea....

Pastblast: from our 2007 "Historic Treats" calendar. Marsha offers goodies from the olden days... in this case, "Marchpane", a delicacy made from almond paste and rose water. Marchpane was rumored to be a favorite treat of Queen Elizabeth I, who was known to have a bit of a sweet tooth!

Back in 2014, I did a calendar featuring Marsha and BJ traveling Rt. 66, and am in the process of turning that into an illustrated cookbooklet, with updated and additional artwork. Here's one updated illustration of Marsha and BJ's encounters along Route 66: Costumed characters at tourist spots!

Pastblast: From back in the days when I was painting ACEOs - Art Cards, Editions and Originals, small paintings measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches - "Snow Nap" was one of the results. This painting of a fox napping in winter and aware of your presence was done in acrylic paint on canvas-textured paper.

Pastblast: "Close Encounters of the Furred Kind" was a gouache painting pre-1995, part of the print lineup we were sending to conventions back then. Randy is startled to discover ET cousins, and the foxy arrivals in their glowing spaceship are less than thrilled to be found out.

Sharing a print we originally offered after the publication of Marsha's Sweet Treats cookbook: "Sweet Treats: The Next Day" was a fun look at Marsha's life after she had been researching all her favorite desserts for the cookbook!
