New episode dropped today and it has some of my favorite scenes of this season. I hope you all check it out.
Episode 2: Instruments of Chaos King Starbringer and Yoba learn of a messy new situation in lower city. Sophrosyne hatches an ambitious plan to get the support Astreus needs at the last minute. Chartrulean grapples with the revelation that Sophrosyne might be more than she seems.
You are likely to see a sharp decrease in bluesky activity on this account and @chartrulean.bsky.social due to Texas's new age verification mandate. I will not be giving my SSN to a third party. Give me a follow on Instagram [@]Chartrulean [@]Packhowl for pod stuff.
I enjoy writing frustrating characters. Sorry not sorry.
Next episode releasing for early access at midnight tonight. You guys are going to be so mad at our boy.
Just made my first story sub in a while so now enjoying some Tea and Coffee, Stars and Gravity from @aanpress.bsky.social featuring among others the talented @singingtotigers.bsky.social. Chartrulean mug provided by the great minds at @packhowl.bsky.social
Weigh any advice to get to curb your ambition. Sometimes it's genuinely about risk management; sometimes it's more about the person saying it than your actual ceiling. Compromise on how, not on whether. Trying and failing is still data. Don't let someone else's limits become your default. /rant
Independent artists are vulnerable to AI accusations and bad-faith rating bombs, related or not. If we want to have any artists left in this world, we need to be supporting them; not putting them...us...on the defensive. Be better than the bots.
Today I put a response to an AI-related Apple Podcast review in our public feed, since podcast reviews don't allow for discourse. Let this stand against any future AI-use accusations. Consider rating or reviewing the pod to help us recover from bad faith ratings. open.spotify.com/episode/4Kyu...
#SundayShoutout to the award-winning #AudioDrama The Madness of Chartrulean from Packhowl Media and our good friend Hannah Radcliff. We were lucky enough to be there for the livestream premiere of Vol. 2, Episode 1 on YouTube, and it was fantastic. Highly recommend! #PodcastRecommendations

Saysha's Story part 1 dropped last week, introducing Marta da Silva as Dekka. "The network would tell us if there was a problem...right?" #scifi #cyberpunk #audiodrama
"There is nuance to consider, Yoba!" Jonathan Cox @jonvoa.bsky.social is one of those voice actors you can trust with just about anything. He's played several characters in the Chartrulean universe, including the double-edged media man, Lybender, as well as a smuggler known as "The Old Man."

AI use accusations, especially in places where we can't comment back, are reductive of the thousands of human hours of human talent that go into making anything. Especially when the creator has shared so much of the BTS process. Be cautious about what you see, but please don't do this to shows.
We don’t use AI. Not everything we see is AI. This reviewer can take a hike, suck it, and kindly f* right off.

Go behind the scenes with me as I talk about doing pre-visualization before sound designing scenes in audio fiction. The examples use Unreal Engine and Dolby Atmos, but the philosophy can be adapted to different tools. Happy sound designing! www.patreon.com/chartrulean/...

"No help is coming." It's time to introduce @adriangalley who returns this season as Maldoro.
I’m. So. Excited.
Experience the world of Chartrulean from a new perspective. The storm over Simitu is raging. The streets are dark. And Maldoro has declared war on smugglers. Saysha (@sassylich.bsky.social )and their gang, The Salty Mile, are on the run, but find the fight to feed lower city is bigger than them.
One thing I really don't understand about today's discussions about AI is how relationships are so easily cast aside. Remembering how collaborative and fun it was to record with a human cast and how immensely other peoples' visions benefit the project, I can't imagine giving that up for efficiency.
I’ve been biting my tongue for this one because it is the most awesome feature of Vol. 2.
The next episode is coming June 25…and you aren’t ready for this. You’ll meet Saysha, played by B. Narr @sassylich.bsky.social, a vigilante pushing back against the cult of personality and its effects on everyday Arcasians. Trailer drops this Thursday. #artreveal #audiodrama #unrealengine #noai
Today there's a compendium in the feed, so it's time to introduce Shogo Miyakita who returns this season as three characters who could not be more different than one another; an indignant doctor, a sharp-shooting pirate/smuggler, and a foppish suitor.
🎧NEW EPISODE DROP🎧 Compendium: The Story of Rankusha Dr. Fillion, an achaeoligist, doctor, and historian, tells the story of Rankusha and the downfall of Arcas' previous industrialized civilization. Voiced by Shogo Miyakita
We asked the cast what they enjoyed about playing their character in The Madness of Chartrulean. You're hearing @alfoote3.bsky.social, the season's mysterious narrator.
No cast is complete without a power couple, so here is Stacey Lightmann, who plays Shan and happens to be the wife of our narrator, Al Foote!
We asked the cast what they enjoyed about playing their character in The Madness of Chartrulean. You're hearing Elizabeth Plant as Rankusha. "I relish the opportunity to just Get Weird With It." #AudioDrama #VoiceOverArtist #IndiePodcast #behindthescenes
We asked the cast what they enjoyed about playing their character in The Madness of Chartrulean. You're hearing Reginald West at Admiral Lapadine. "Every time I get the opportunity to work with all the special people in this project, it just sets my soul on fire."
A while ago I asked the cast what they enjoyed about working on The Madness of Chartrulean Vol. 2 and it's turned into the ultimate love fest with artists appreciating other artists. It fills me with all the good feels, and I'm never doing cast announcements differently. I LOVE THIS CAST!
We asked the cast what they enjoyed about playing their character in The Madness of Chartrulean. You're hearing: Aud Andrews, who plays Chartrulean. "I really enjoyed working with all of you."

This is exactly the kind of listener I made @chartrulean.bsky.social for. All the subtext is there for a reason, so fun seeing these details appreciated.
There's a lot to appreciate in E4, Conduits of Madness, but the moment that sticks with me the most is the quiet nod the stranger in the market gives Tru. Rest of the episode is filled with fraught attempts to connect with people. This one movement with as stranger is closest he gets to anyone.
