"Brian" Grace says, "remember that talk about inviting the Fae into our house?"

"uh-huh" Brian replies.

"and?" continues Grace.

"the only fairies allowed in our house are the ones we already know & Love!" Brian repeats this from memory as this is probably not the first time he has invited the other crowd into their home.

"and do you know & Love this fairy?" she points to Melvin the alp who beams with pride.

"i love me!" Melvin declares.

"good for you" snaps Grace.

Brian hmms, deep in thought. "sure, why not?" defeated, Grace slumps a little.

crude oil and plastics are a lot harder to give up than AI and many of us are actually living fine without all three without a whole hell of a lot of effort. like just fucking not using AI should be your baseline. after that yeah okay let's do something about plastics and oil.

"it's Melvin!" Brian declares knowingly. Melvin the alp pokes Grace's finger. watch this space.

continued from the previous page... Grace, the young woman with the buzz cut, Grace, scratches her head after the Alp had explain they are a "Who" and not a "What".

"okay- i guess that's fair- so, who are you?" she asks.

"i'm a Alp!" says the creature who, apparently, is an alp.

Grace is not amused as indicated by the squiggle line above her head. "Right-" she starts, "so, d'ya see how that's a "what" answer to a "who" question?"

"Ah!" the alp says realizing his mistake, "it's three o'clock in the morning"

Grace, even less amused, looks behind her and finally calls to the aforementioned Brian and yells, "Brian, i swear t'God if y'er ignoring me cuz y'er playing Carfield again-"

first we see a silhouette difficult to make out. one figure in the dark asks, "Hello?" to which the other replies "Hi!"

in the next loose panel a young woman with a buzz cut turns on a bed lamp only to discover a strange creature hanging from her elbow. "excuse me?" she says. the creature replies "don't mind me- i'm just stealing your essence- it's fine"

"No!" she declares. she is now out of bed holding the creature by what we can assume are its ears. "it's NOT fine, you- you... what are you?"

having set the whatsit down she turn to call to someone out of panel, "Brian, what is this thing and why is it in our house?"

the creature says, "i'm not a "what" i'm a "who"!"
