I'm optimistic that the next 12 months is going to a very special time for JS performance ⚡ (This applies to developer workflows & end-users.) Several large-scale independent multi-year language, runtime, tooling, & library investments are approaching the payback stage all around the same time.
Are the kids going to call me a boomer for being a millennial that prefers to have a `src` folder? Is this me clinging to having a mental model of the file structure instead of just using ⌘P?
Turbopack team has been putting in work these past couple months 💪 Excited to get these improvements out to more people in the upcoming release!
Turbopack is incredible - just tested out the latest Next.js canary in the @payload.dev monorepo and our compile times + memory usage have improved significantly: Webpack Postgres: Out-Of-Memory Turbo Postgres: 5.4s Webpack Mongo: 19.3s Turbo Mongo: 6.3s That's a 3x speed improvement 🎉
I want more toggles in my life. Don't make me scroll or open a new window. Put the high-level information I care about at the top and allow me to drill down into endlessly nested details. This is why @obsidian.md is one of my favorite products ❤️
