For #fossilfriday my first paper just dropped, published by @geolassoc.bsky.social with @bristolpalaeo.bsky.social. We found a mixed terrestrial and marine fauna with complex ecological implications and a Rhaetian age for these Holwell fissures. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

This has been an amazing week working with a fantastic team.
It's the end of an extremely successful week here in Morocco. We set up the prep lab at USMBA and prepped, catalogued and described a bunch of stuff. I even attempted to draw an ankylosaur. Now, the writing... @richardjbutler.bsky.social @afossilpreparator.bsky.social
Amazing successful day here in Morocco setting up a prep lab with our collaborators at USMBA. We even managed to start prepping some new Spicomellus material! Big, big thanks to @afossilpreparator.bsky.social and Kate @Zoic Palaeotech! Impossible without their hard work! @richardjbutler.bsky.social

Late #fossilfriday - take a look at this...interesting museum display I found a few months ago 10/10 for effort
This lovely #Coccosteus was a placoderm, or armoured fish, which lived in the seas of the Devonian (~400 million years ago). This one was found in the Caithness Flagstones at Achanarras - Scotland. #fossilfriday 106 hours of prep time.
For #fossilfriday here's the most recent ammonite I've prepped - a Sigaloceras from Cerney Wick, found this summer next to a mammoth bone or two.
