I live in Chicago and had the pleasure of visiting the #ObamaCenter yesterday and today. People are there from all across the country. Some folks used the occasion to make the Center the site of their family reunion. Peaceful. Hopeful. Nostalgic. The staff are very kind. Wear very comfortable shoes.

This call for a boycott of “Asian” businesses needs to provide better information and not be driven only by anger. 👇🏾
This regime is evil! Trump is milking wealthy donors to help build his $300 million crummy version of the West Wing but won’t allow these workers to keep the gift that Tyler Perry gave them. Couldn’t be me. I wouldn’t give shit back. Gone within hours. www.11alive.com/article/trav...
TSA workers asked to return $1,000 gift cards given out by Tyler Perry at Atlanta airport
The gift was a huge morale booster at the airport, as he tried to ease some of the financial strain on workers during the government shutdown.

Plenty ICE agents at Houston (IAH) basically doing much of nothing except directing traffic. I took the time to talk with one very young agent. I recorded that conversation. As a scholar, I’m curious about why Black and Brown people are willingly doing this work. 1/
I’m convinced there is at least one word that each of us has a hard time pronouncing or getting right. It’s a different word for each individual but we all have that one word that stunts us. Mines is…👈🏾 😂
Good afternoon to everyone who woke up this morning, got a glimpse of the news and rolled over in bed while saying, “This muthafuckah!!” IYKYK
MAGA will let you know their ignorance in oh so many ways.
Good morning! I’m convinced that the gospel song "Jesus Will Work It Out"is the lengthiest gospel song in the history of the Black Church. You’ll be flat on your back on a pew w/your feet still dancing and the soloist will still be ad libbing. “How you gonna pay your rent? All your money spent.”
On January 24, 2025, the Trump administration suspended the USAID program in Nigeria. On December 25, 2025, the Trump administration bombed Nigeria, supposedly to stop ISIS violence against Nigerian Christians. I am reading that the strike was welcomed by some Nigerian government leaders…🧵
I have invested THOUSANDS on custom made furniture and yet…IYKYK
I felt like cooking so I started out with something my family always loves me to make.
This morning as I was thinking about the term “ceteris paribus.” I admit, it is a uniquely beautiful and yet difficult term for me to fully capture. While pondering that term, because I had thought to call her earlier, I began to wonder, “If my sister were not my sister would we be friends?” OMG.🥴
I love my babies. I just wish they would get to the ask a little quicker. Or maybe I’m just part of the process for helping them learn artistry. 🤣
How about my auntie who is beginning to have memory problems just said this about her sister who cooked the meal and told her to come by to pick it up: “Yeah, you know your other aunt act like can’t nobody cook it like them. Sometimes you just have to gon’ head and act crazy. Let ‘em cook it!” #Done
This governor needs to get his information correct! But as I recall this GOP governor - endorsed by Trump - is being sued by ACLU for exceeding his authority by deploying the National Guard to DC. So, as far as I’m concerned, him, Trump & the murderer are all responsible. 🤬#NationalGuardShootingDC
Her & Hershel literally wrapped themselves up in the slimy membrane of white supremacy. Now ol’ boy is telling her she sucked his booty hole and walked around looking like nobody loved her all while he sat back and watched her downfall. Black MAGA are some astoundingly mentally desolate people.
Well, @govpritzker.illinois.gov said what he said! As a Chicagoan, I am glad he is not backing down.
Watch carefully these anti Black culture & ex-gay pronouncements by Black people. Notice how VERY adjacent they become to white leaders. Watch the $ flow. Then remember the wedge white politicians always try to create w/in the Black community OFTEN close to elections using anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric.
The caucasity of some of these white folks on this app. I will apply that block button to every one of y’all Kirk-dookies who take on the spirit of BooBoo the clown by trying to speak ill of THE exquisite revolutionary Dr. Angela Davis in response to my post.
An orderly society is not indicative of a just society.
You know today was a pretty good day! I conducted business, spent time with loved ones and remained unbothered by the murder of an evil white man.

The man was a GAWDDAMN racists and some of y’all out here once again with a basic “love the sinner hate the sin” style internalized oppression where you suck up bigotry for the sake of your childhood nostalgia. The mofo said what he said!

Allowing ICE to run around without proper ID was already a step too far. Now we have people running around impersonating police shooting politicians and their family. www.fox9.com/news/melissa...

Ok. This blue space is about to get daily posts where I share my queer womanist reflections on the state of our nation. Today’s topic: law and order crackdowns on protests. In the history of this nation, its leaders often resort to violence to control the responses of its citizens to oppression. 1/
🧵 1/ I’ve been thinking about the history of African Americans (and I’m being intentional because of the diaspora). The years are approximate: Slavery 1619 - 1865 Reconstruction 1865 - 1877 Jim Crow 1870 - 1965 Civil Rights* 1954 - 1968 * I contend that began centuries prior.

100 years ago, el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz was born. This is one of my favorite short interviews he gave. He was so prophetic. This country has still not made progress. In fact, it is regressing. #MalcolmX
