going on a bit of a vacation away from social media for a bit (used to do this back in the twitter days) probably won’t be back until August at the earliest! see ya!

Thanks to all the Ridge-heads who grabbed a copy of One More Win, my Ridge Racer Type 4 fanzine. Physical copies are now on sale permanently at www.rocketbooks.shop!
My biggest pet peeve is that there's a ton of scam websites that are "Free QR Code Generator"s then the QR code stops working after a few days and then redirects you to ask you to PAY to re-activate it. I made a page on website for making ACTUALLY FREE QR Codes. Enjoy. konig.games/QRCodes/ #QRCodes
It's emotionally taxing to see an industry you love and have spent twenty years dedicating a career to implode.
if you have your own physical media collection, you can do your own version of the Criterion Closet where you stand in your basement by yourself and saying "oh wow, In the Mood for Love, what a film" to absolutely no one
I don’t want this point to be lost in the discourse. Going digital-only means inequity for people who cannot afford internet or constantly purchasing new games. Libraries provide opportunities for people to experience games they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford, and that will be lost.
My child loves going to the library and checking out a new video game every week. Going digital only eliminates libraries as a way people can access games.
still in the middle of unpacking my home office so here’s some of my physical collection
i always buy discs whenever i can so this news stinks collecting is part of the hobby
people talk about the tattoo but honestly tresspasser’s physics based gameplay is something that’s still cool to play with today, imo
It's that time again. For those interested in playing or returning to the (most important) best worst game of all time, The Collection Chamber has a repack of this gem for modern systems, including the Trespasser CE community patch. Info/download: collectionchamber.blogspot.com/2018/06/tres...

semi-related: i played with a bunch of people in matchmade squads last week that were new to the game and each reported being absolutely hooked (one had allegedly gone from level 0 to 42 in one day?) but each agreed that it was so overwhelming and confusing at first — Steves in their own right
"Marathon is too complicated" "extraction shooters aren't fun" "what about the player count" I give you: Marathon Steve www.reddit.com/r/Marathon/c...

me, before i press play on “Caligula: The Ultimate Cut” for Mother’s Day movie night:
I cringe at sex scenes in movies. I have never watched a sex scene that was actually imperative to the story. It always makes me feel like the producer is working out some sort of fetish.
as a parent i am subject to a lot of children’s media good lord let me tell you that “the pout pout fish” is a disaster of a movie it was just a total slog — couldn’t hold the attention of my kids
After Roottrees launched I wrote a long technical blog post about how it was built that people seemed to enjoy: eviltrout.com/blog/2025-01... I’m pretty sure I will do the same for The Incident at Galley House. Hopefully peole will find it interesting.
Building The Roottrees are Dead
The Roottrees are Dead was released on January 15, 2025 and it did much better than I ever expected. The reception has been amazing. In just over a week, the game hit the magic mark of 500 reviews on ...
