Are quest exclusives still even a thing? Meta has lost interest afiacs. And 'rumours' are people pulling numbers out of their ass, we have no basis to guess. The low latency foviated connection appears to be good, certainly better than what you can do on wifi with quest currently. Wireless ftw.

If the rumours of the Steam Frame starting at $1,500 turn out to be correct, I genuinely don't see the point in that headset. Especially since Valve made the truly baffling decision to stick with LCD displays not OLED in big 2026. It'll only play your Steam games, so no access to Quest exclusives.

I think it is time for us to stop expressing surprise and dismay and add a routine cleanup of fascists and robber barons every 50-80 years to the world maintenance list and get on with it.

Things I and friends have done to calm an angry abusive man from further escalating and killing us or our children: -Smiled -Kept normal schedules in order not to trigger a fight -Appeased with kind acts (cooking, cleaning, favors) -Forced friendly tones and words

Rep. Max Miller: "My former wife has claimed that during a custody exchange at my home that day, I assaulted her…If I had assaulted her, would she have offered to cook me dinner six days later?"

I know this might sound radical but nondeterministic systems are a bad, bad, idea. Don't stick LLMs in your pipeline direcly, I don't care how great the harness is. You know what's better than a harness? Repeatable code, build that. Run the model against a ton of data and build a map. Cheaper too.

Well this pisses me off. All that effort to get a build done on macOS 26 and the entire diff of the app comes down to one Info.plist key. Fuck me. That's an apple mistake. There's no reason we can't be building iOS 26 apps on macOS 27.

FFS. Xcode 26.6 can't build apps for release properly on MacOS 27. Really harshing my mellow and creating a lot of extra work.

What sucked about communism wasn't the socialism, it was the authoritarianism, and these motherfuckers making all the noise about it in this country fucking LOVE authoritarianism.

There's no timeline on which AI isn't totally commoditized right? Except maybe the one where it kills us all. Brain in box as a service is just a thing, and I guess Apple will win for reasons? Mostly having to do with holding their cash instead of burying it in datacenter special purpose vehicles.

Ease of fleet management with harnessed LLMs should really put some hurt on AWS and the like. I'm back to doing stuff on bare metal that I used to do prior to the advent of cloud services and fuck is it liberating.

Ya know I've been thinking. In the WWDC keynote they said they're getting "1000 submissions per hour" but they didn't actually qualify that in any way. That number is a catastrophe if it is *new* apps. But if it includes new builds and testflights, it's actually fine.

When claude hallucinates an SF symbol that doesn't exist that should probably just go straight to the design team at Apple.

holy cow. this is actually embarrassing. I knew it was 'like a decade' I've been nursing this idea but I went and looked and I registered the domain FIFTEEN YEARS AGO. YIKES. It was so long ago we didn't know yet that godaddy is evil.
