I gave two library cards to kids this week. Led them to sections they needed for their interests. One little girl I spent time with said why does your face have so many crinkles? I said because I'm old. She just smiled. Trust the one with crinkles.

Retired teacher, now working at the library. Books, art, music, science, history interests.
Our picklist at the library has lots of classics lately. I'm thinking students had books they should have read this summer heading into the start of the school year!
Our local Erie meteorologist came to read Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs today at Storytime. 😀 Fun was had.
An elderly man came into the library today to use the computer to pay a bill. He didn't have a cell phone or email account or home computer. We tried to set up a Google email for him, but he needed to get a text. Part of society is being left out nowadays. Sad.
Siggy is home from a 10 day cat boarding situation. She's glad to be home. We missed her. She found her cat tree spot. Nice vacation. Everyone is home safe and sound. Back to the Kingdom of Knowledge tomorrow. 😀
Home after a ten hour drive. We really will miss our friends and family on the east coast. We are feeling grateful to be home. We may take the train next year. The NY Thruway rest stops are great in the big ones. The small service areas were a nightmare. Bad planning. Everyone was pissed.
Centerville, MA Library. Charming. We hit every small town Library on vacations. We'll find another one tomorrow.
Finally found the Atlantic Ocean today. Here for a while. My childhood friend. ❤️
I'm an internet prude here. Unless you post, not repost and have 1k followers I won't interact. Only moral and kind folks allowed. You have to be smart too.
I'm on vacation technically, but send our director cool stuff for teens I see online. We struggle getting 12-16 year olds in. Rural area with a town with 2 stop lights. What should we do?
My holds for audiobooks for our road trip are in. Finishing Jojo Moyes then, Watership Down. I hope he still loves me after miles on the road. We both love Thursday Murder Club.
Took Siggy to the boarding place. We've missed her every second already (phantom sounds that she is scratching at the back door). But this dog zooming outside at the boarding spot, was so cute. He was romping with others. But this.. please sir, can I have some more? He had lots of space, cared for.

Taking a long road trip with my husband. Might be the last. It's so hard as a 65 year old woman to admit that. I may fly or take a train in the future, but here we are. I will embrace that. Road trips have been my life. I feel the love and admit it is time. So hard.💔💔
Heading to the Kingdom of Knowledge tomorrow to work (The Library). Old lady hanging on in retirement with a job. You should make your life that somehow. Just do it. Live your life.
Heading to bed. Doing things locally, hold on to your core values and trying to be sane while being involved in community events nowadays can be rough. Everyone is trying to figure out how to feel. Neighbors, friends, enemies (you and I thought) are going through it. Patience is a virtue. Truth.
Finished the last one and my husband asked, what's next. Listen to this one. Well worth it. Libby.
It's 67 degrees and air quality is 67. If only my 8 year old grandson was here he'd be 6-7 loving this moment. We didn't put AC on, loved cool temps and no smoke for now. I made stir fry, listened to audiobooks, hung out with my other grandson who kept riding his ebike over. Good Nana day.
I have been listening to this book over the weekend. Powerful.
Air quality is below 100. We had rain and thunderstorms off and on all day. Despite the flooding peril elsewhere for two months we have had nothing. Today we got 1-2 inches. Relief....
I eat salad and fruit all week. It's been two weeks. I'm dying here in rural America. Local crops slowly coming in and my own stuff. It's killing me bruh.
Our historical society is doing a Quilts of Valor program tomorrow. I am so glad to be part of that. No matter what has happened for many decades, centuries, these people acted in their moral ideal, served and I appreciate their service.
My 13 year old grandson rode up to my door on his ebike as I was going to meet my husband 1/10 of a mile away at our local place for dinner. He rode over, had a soda, talked to all our friends and us. I think he may have convinced two people to buy ebikes. Future salesman? Weird. We all love him.
