Why you shouldn't drink Liubao

Most days that I drink tea, I will drink Liubao at least once.

from a few days ago, 80s Wistaria Liu an. liuan is a pretty challenging category, both on the body and to find. at 3g, this was already super punchy, but remarkably pleasant and soft on the body. really enjoyed the body feeling, texture and overall progression of this. good stuff #tea #teasky

an attempt at a tea based drink; fukien sx and ort daily rg over ice with an orange cold foam. #1 was good, but fukien sx isnt great. #2 upped the sweetness and used crushed ice, which has better appeal visually. used orange juice in 1 but ran out for 2, would have been best #tea #teasky

2014 aged shuixian from Pastleaf. Very pleasant, comforting aged high roast oolong profile - the sweet chocolate roast develops into a sort of tart almost plum-like note, with a little acidity. Thick and rich and comforting, but probably an acquired taste. Would have been better low ratio

wistaria 1970s haotien houtou puerh over the past few days. gongfu, the early steeps are woody and raisiny sweet, with a lingering aftertaste like brandy. a light spice, and not a very loud one. had a slowly building focusing mental effect, and despite the roughness, very reinfusible #teasky

bought 200g of a tea and it turns out it's a tooth hurting tea....

exploring new teas is rather discouraging

12 famous tea mountains (07 sheng from wwsf) is way too many. nonetheless this is a nice tea - there's a lot of focus on single origin but i think the pendulum is swinging or will swing back. floral aftertaste with huigan (!) that goes on and on. smoke that fades quickly. good tea #tea #teasky

taiwan qilan, an educational experience. this hits the yancha profile without the yan, the particular unique fullness (other than "yanyun"). still pleasant easy drinking

drinking wwsf 2012 manzhuan anniversary cake via WWSF. not much of a sheng drinker, as anyone familiar with my other epiphets would know, but this thing is pretty wild. good texture and re-infusability (more on this later) with a very strong body effect - comfortable,relaxing and uplifting? #tea

postcard tea 2010 zhi lan xiang dancong. would you believe me if i told you this entirely lacked "aged tastes? one of the main problems i've had with dancong, without realising until now, has been a lack of integration - this dancong is a normal dancong, but everything adds to a cohesive whole #tea

had a weirdly processed white tea that veers closer to dancong more than anything else. despite having some particularly obvious flaws, it is by far the best dancong or white tea I've had. this is quite perturbing

two rouguis today - "mi tuo yan" and "frog meat". i enjoy tastings immediately after one another, because they imbue each other with context. mty - bright, fragrant, a bit acidic, sweet. frog - dark, thick, smooth. both are characteristically rougui, but i still don't get "cinnamon" #teasky #oolong

finally able to have a nice session of tea again, has been some time. wistaria's autumn echoes shou. pretty typical clean shou profile, backed by remarkable longevity, great texture, good potency, and a warm and comforting body feeling that steadily builds through the session. exemplar #tea #teasky

a common flaw in liubao appears to be milk texture and an oat note - could this tea be suitably applied for grain based tea preparations, such as pocha/tsampa and suutei tsai?
