My kiddo forgot the name of an instrument. So rather than describing it, she asked me to name every instrument in the house that isn't "wind, string, or percussion." I just assumed it was a random challenge until she stopped me and went on with a previous conversation.

"Don't click the AI button" is the hardest part of working in a big company right now. You're behind on your work, you have a problem you really don't want to solve, and there's a big button that's going to pretend do what you need and everyone's waiting to hand you a prize if you press it.

I'm sad that I've finally listed my hurdy gurdy for sale, but excited to have an excuse to buy another weird folk instrument. Currently waffling between a nicer session-ready flute, gourd banjo, or upgrading my uilleann pipes to a 1/2 set. But I like ren faires and a gittern isn't out of question.

My favorite smart watch (the Pebble Time) is older than my oldest kid, still works, and is outlasting every other smartwatch and fitness tracker I've bought before it or since. I just harvested the band from an old/abandoned early Android Watch to replace the original on the time that finally broke
