I'm currently writing a one shot for my DnD group, and I've devised what I think is a relatively simple puzzle/riddle, but just want to check to see if the logic works. Anyone willing to be a guinea pig, and try to solve my dastardly (shouldn't be too hard) puzzle?

I had been loosely following RAM shortages, but Micron leaving the consumer market made me take a deeper look at what's happening. If you're like me, and had filed away as 'a thing that is happening', it's worth starting to take a look, because this is getting pretty bad, pretty quick.

Wondering why everyone is suddenly talking about RAM? What's the big deal? @patrickdane.bsky.social speaks to analysts and hardware experts like @matpiscatella.bsky.social, @superhys.bsky.social, and Daniel Owen to outline why RAM prices are skyrocketing, and what this means for videogames.

I’m geeked up on that pure Na’vi yayo while an eight foot tall goth cat gf cuts me. I’m high off that Pandora Payakan talking directly to the ancestors. We sipping pure Tulkun brain goo. That Mangkwan coochie got me waging war on Eywa. I’ve died. I will die again. This shit ain’t nothing to me man.

Quadrich from Avatar 3 but he’s wearing the face paint that makes him look like he’s doing Dracula Flow.

I fucking love DnD man. Tonight, I played a blood-obsessed sanguine fish-woman sorcerer, who was loving being in chaos, her health yo-yoing back and forth, giggling while in the middle of chaos the whole time. It's sometimes nice to finish work and become a gremlin shark woman for 4 hours, you know?

Once went to dinner with one of the writers on a Halo. I started saying I was working on a script for something, and they said "thats amazing, please dont tell me anything." Took me sec but realised its because if something showed up in a game I deemed similar, it opens up a lot of potential grief.

PSA: Please do not send me or my colleagues your story ideas for the game we're actively working on. Especially do not send us your long, detailed manifesto about what changes we should make and your ideas for improving the story. We can't read it. We won't read it. Don't do it!

I spoke to a dozen professional concept artists working in games about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs easier, even if it's just used in "very early ideation stages." Zero said "yes." Most said it made their job harder. I learnt a lot about concept artists. You should too!

I've been helping out at The Guardian's games team this year with edits and other support - thanks @mackeza.bsky.social for the opportunity, and to the (brilliant) freelancers I've worked with these past few months. A reminder if any sites in 2026 need an additional editor during busy periods, HMU!

I think there is an underestimation of the prevalence of the use of AI in game development. The tech scares me for so many reasons, and the push back is necessary - but I fear that today's conversation isn't going to dissuade the techs implementation, but rather the transparency of its use.

Quantic Dream, a studio known for its single-player, cinematic narrative titles, is making a competitive MOBA. That's odd. @patrickdane.bsky.social went into a recent playtest to discover that, surprisingly, there are some pretty neat ideas. But it still has some significant hurdles to overcome.

Quantic Dream's MOBA Works in Theory — But First It Needs to Work Technically

Quantic Dream's competitive MOBA Spellcasters Chronicles recently held a beta. Has the narrative-driven studio bitten off too much?

There's something to Spellcasters Chronicles. It's a nice idea and interesting in the ways it differs to other MOBAs. Looks amazing too - but man, it needs to sort out it's technical issues. It simply needs less RAM demand, because asking a minimum of 32GB is insane.

Bungie and its flagship game Destiny 2 have had a rough few years, with Sony even taking on an impairment loss against the studio worth US $204 million. It seems the developer is in some level of trouble, but what kind? @patrickdane.bsky.social weighs up what the future holds for the company.

I Don't Know How Much Trouble Bungie Is In, And That's Worrying

Bungie has faced a succession of struggles since being acquired by Sony — how did the developer get here, and how much trouble is it in?

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has addressed the contentious firing of over 30 Rockstar Games employees during a parlimentary Question Time. He said the accusations of union busting were "deeply concerning," asserted the right of workers to join unions, and said ministers would look into the case.
