I like comics, and I'm a charter member of the Kieron Dwyer fan club. In other comic news: FINISH BLACK MONDAY MURDERS OR WE RIOT. My two favourite baseball teams are the Red Sox and whoever is playing the Yankees.
"Oh, well, AI is already here so—" "Asbestos." "Well, I mean—" "CFCs. Leaded fuel." "—but—" "Portable baby cages." "—okay, I—" "Radium. Agent Orange. DDT..."
This is such an insightful read. Great for comics creators, but also great for any freelancer. The best way to ensure that you don't devalue yourself is to make sure you understand what constitutes the value you provide.
She's yelling about graphic novels again. I wrote a blog post about how to track work hours and do the math to build better work schedules. This speaks to graphic novelists specifically but it's good info for any freelancer!
I'm officially at the point where I don't give a single rat's ass about any goddamn thing Hickman writes if it's not the last 4 issues of Black Monday Murders. It's been 10 @#$%ing years. DO IT.
Battle Of The Atom: Marvel Nights With Jonathan Hickman This week writer Jonathan Hickman (House of X, Secret Wars, Ultimate Spider-Man, East of West) joins us to talk about Midnight X-Men, his new horror infused book out October 7th. He talks about his approach to Vampires, the horror of…

Country rube stuff 101: if they talk fast, they got their hands in your pocket.
Part of why I don't like the AI-or-bust economy is the constant flopsweat of people on the news who say this HAS to work. Quit making everyone so anxious. Goddamn. If this is the next Google then why are you acting like this? I don't remember being told to buy an iPhone at gunpoint.
#OctoberCoverChallenge (Day 4): Scary/Spooky Building House of Whispers #1, cover by Sean A. Murray The Sandman Universe books varied in quality, with only Lucifer being compelling IMO. House of Whispers was the worst of the bunch, though. That said, great covers!

#CoverAndSplash X-Factor #6 Cover by Frenz & Rubinstein Interiors by Guice & McLeod Early-X-Factor Cyclops was super duper petulant, man.
#CoverAndSplash - X-Factor #5. Last issue before Louise takes the helm. Layton has some good concepts but the script and execution is really bad.
Just showed my daughter MST3K the Movie for the first time. ❤️

Great chance to post my all-time favorite headline
I'm convinced AI is our generation's radium - a discovery with genuinely useful applications in specific, controlled circumstances that we stupidly put in everything from kid's toys to toothpaste until we realised the harm far too late where future generations will ask if we were out of our minds.
This is damn near the most ham-fisted comics page I ever did read. I can almost hear the Greenhilly* music in that centre panel. Save us, Weezie!! #XFactor
Joe Pesci said on the next week's show, as host, that if he had been there, he struck her.
It was OTD in 1992 Sinead O'Connor shocked and surprised on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE by ripping up a photo of Pope John Paul II with the words "Fight the real enemy," following her adapted rendition of Bob Marley's "War" to address child abuse.
Share a film that has significance to you, for whatever reason 🎥 This movie awakened my comedic side. I mimicked the hockey play-by-play scene while watching a game with a friend quite impressively. That led to doing a Bob & Doug skit for a class project that the teacher loved so much...
Share a film that has significance to you, for whatever reason 🎥 Jesus Of Montreal (1989) forever changed the way I look at life, religion, and relationships.
#OctoberCoverChallenge (Day 3): Nighttime Atmosphere or Inclement Weather The Beyonder has a nighttime atmosphere in his pants! JRJR & Williamson again
#OctoberCoverChallenge (Day 2): This is Hell JRJR & Al Williamson on art. Lots of writers put Matt through hell. None like Ann Nocenti.
The most 2026 Human Civilization Thing imaginable to me is our society artificially propping up a massively money-losing enterprise that poses an existential risk to our continued existence.
