Its been a few months since I've done any star trails. Went down last night to the abandoned Oregon Inlet Life Saving Station on the OBX. While passing lights from cars and a dredging barge didn't make things easy, I'm pretty happy with the result.

Another shot from my recent outing to the abandoned Coast Guard Life Saving Station on Pea Island on the OBX (one shot, with the station conveniently lit up by a passing southbound car coming over the Basnight Bridge).

It's been too long since I stayed up late for some Milky Way photography. The mosquitos were out in force, but my visit to the abandoned Coast Guard Lifesaving Station near Oregon Inlet on the OBX was worth it.

I don't usually do sunrises (too damn early for me), but got up early today and headed to Kitty Hawk Pier. I was not disappointed. Still seeing a little of the effect of Erin, although the seas have calmed quite a bit.

I took this shot of the Aurora Borealis in January, outside Fairbanks, when it was -20F. As much as I don't like the heat and humidity we are having in Duck, NC these days, it beats -20F.
