My new physiotherapist asked me what my physicial goals were. I told her I just want a social media influencer to stop me to ask how I “stay jacked.” She laughed and asked what my goals really were. I told her I just want to look good in clothes. She wrote it down as I hid my tears.

I’ve been a fan of @slimyswampghost.bsky.social for years so I’m over the moon happy for him. And I love that some of the producers involved have two of my projects out to town. deadline.com/2026/07/tris...

People are often surprised when they learn that I flunked a short story writing class. In my defence here’s what happened in a nutshell… 1/38
From now on when I feel like I suck at my job I’m going to remind myself that at least I don’t have the president of Korea demanding an investigation into why I suck.
My favourite horror director, Kiyoshi Kurosawa (Cure; Pulse), made a samurai movie!!! Based on an acclaimed novel, it’s a murder mystery set in a besieged castle and this may be the most excited I’ve been for a theatrical release in years. I just hope it plays somewhere near me. Link below.
Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s Period Thriller ‘The Samurai and the Prisoner’ Drops First Trailer
The 'Cure' and 'Cloud' director's first period samurai feature — a 16th century-set mystery thriller adapted from an award-winning Japanese novel — lands in U.S. theaters on July 31 via Janus.

Not a fan of these “hydration breaks.” In our day we called them “orange slice time.” #worldcup
Tried my best to finish all my work before kick-off at noon cuz it’s going to be a very busy day.
RIP to a true master of the multicam sitcom. Cheers, Frasier, Taxi, Friends, Night Court—the list goes on. He’s arguably made me laugh more than any other director. If you love bts stories of the television industry his memoir is fantastic.
It’s halftime for Korea v Mexico! Here’s my version of a somaek or soju bomb. I specifically use Corona. I call it a “Coreona.” You’re welcome. Here’s to an awesome game!!! 🇰🇷🇲🇽
Don’t expect any of your Korean-Canadian friends to be productive today. 🇰🇷🇨🇦
When I stop reading a novel I don’t tell people I “gave up on it.” Instead I say “It wasn’t renewed for a second season.”
Thanked my parents for passing on an appropriate amount of generational trauma for me to handle.
If I die before my wife please refer to me posthumously as Widow’s Bae.
When I get nervous during a film or TV pitch I’ll remember my manager’s advice to just treat it as if I was still doing stand-up comedy. So that’s why I asked the two executives in the zoom what they were drinking and if they were together.
Got my MRI results. I thought my shoulder was arthritic the past 18 months. I have a SLAP tear of the labrum *and* a subscapularis tear. Doctor said “it tore right off the bone.” Orthopedic surgery is next. What a relief! I was afraid I was becoming an old man. Turns out I’m just too athletic!
Pitching a sitcom to one or two execs with their mics muted on zoom make me long for the days when I’d perform standup to a bar of a half dozen strangers.
I live in a small Canadian village of 1400. I’m throwing a goodbye party for one of the best neighbours I’ve ever had. I asked our mutual neighbour to round up his local BFFs. This is how I learn there’s a rumour that I don’t own a TV. And during NHL playoffs no less! 1/2
Exactly 40 years ago a bunch of my classmates in our Canadian suburban high school started wearing Adidas cuz of this magnificent album.
I love that Widow’s Bay is both the funniest horror series I’ve ever seen and the scariest comedy too.
Adapting my story optioned by a prod co a year ago. Rehearsing the pitch today before pitching it to a big prod co. If that goes well we pitch to their studio. If they love it I get paid to write a pilot. And if that goes spectacularly a series is green lit. This is called living the dream baby.
I love Hiro Murai’s ability to balance horror and comedy in Widow’s Bay. Been wanting more of that unsettling, hilarious creepiness ever since he directed the Teddy Perkins episode of Atlanta.
Widow’s Bay is wild and I learned 2 things about the series that totally makes sense if you’ve been watching it: 1) it was originally a Parks and Rec spec; and 2) the creator is the one in that viral Babadook meme.
My younger brother is one of the most talented, focused people I know. When he puts his mind to something he gets it done. When we were kids we loved drawing. But it was clear he was much more talented than me so I turned my attention to writing. I’d write little stories and he’d illustrate them. /1
It’s not my birthday but I love that my friends still find reasons to reach out to me out of the blue.
Not to brag but I just found out one of my TV pitches just got upgraded from “Looks great!” to “Exciting stuff!” Can’t wait for it to reach “LFG!”
Twenty years ago, TOOL released “10,000 Days” in North America and untold numbers of fans still have neck issues to this day.
I’ve been a fan of Dead Pilots Society podcast by @benblacker.bsky.social & Andrew Reich for years so reading this news of how their show helped this series finally get greenlit fills me with joy. deadline.com/2026/05/eter...

One of the worst things of the 21st century has been how we stopped teaching rhetoric in schools enough , to separate it from charisma and stage presence
