Having said it was okay for Bonehill-Paine to be a councillor because it was just bins, instead of dropping him, Badenoch has given him an advisory role – *after* Jewish groups refused to meet with him? Does she just never want this story to end, or....what.
How long before Bonehill-Paine joins Reform? I bet they’d let him stand for parliament.
Anyway, I thought the far-right vs bins story wasn’t until a bit later…
If you think Stancil is right about Vimes, that means only one thing: that you, like Stancil, don’t understand Vimes.
Quite aside from the absurdity of this situation, this attitude re councillors is (quietly) far too common in Westminster.

The idea that *now*, when far right politics is on the rise, when we have openly racist MPs and whole political parties, is a good time to bring back a ‘former’ Neo-Nazi is a little special.
I think Polanski’s right that Bonehill-Paine shouldn’t be pushed out of politics permanently. A nice period of about 70 years would be enough.
Increasingly clear Stancil simply didn’t understand Vimes. Ah well.
I was open-minded on this at first. I do believe in repentance, I think people can change, & I could see the logic of giving someone who was trying to do better a chance in local govt. But the evidence suggest that the abusive, persecutory mode of politics hasn't changed. He's just switched targets

Another day, another plan originating from the UK that would involve the EU making wholesale changes to its own internal and external arrangements to suit the interests and political preferences of a neighbouring non-member state.
