Karl Bode@karlbode.com · 6d agoI've written about the need for phone unlocking protections (rules making it easy for you to swap your phone between carriers) for decades and lawmakers were largely apathetic Elon Musk wants to get into the mobile phone business and they're suddenly all in breathless support of the idea
I thought this had stopped years ago in the area of climate change.

The individual in question went on to spout lies about China, etc. to distract attention from the Trump administration's assault on climate action. This is unacceptable.
Remember when it would be hot for a few days and then you'd have a thunderstorm and that would provide a bit of relief? What happened to that?

I didn't say anything about it, but I did actually have my suspicions around this when it was found out to be his Mum that was a big donor with no clear source of funds.

Discovered they were making a Master and Margarita film, one of my favourite novels, that Jared Leto (!) was in the lead role and that development has been completely paused now Leto has serious allegations against him. (Where previously this was one of those open secret situations.)

Samuel Bancroft has crunched the numbers. Since the 1950s, Leeds has got bigger - but the city has effectively shrunk.

Was surprised to discover The Odyssey has been on release for 466 weeks. Thought it was a new film.

It has tried to build a reservoir in Oxfordshire for decades now. You can have what ever ownership/ regulation model you want if, NIMBYs have a veto, there'll be shortages
It's so fun and satisfying that you can talk all the nonsense you like, but if elected, you *will* just end at a council meeting answering questions about bus services and highway maintenance. I really hope they hate it.
