For more than 40 years, I have longed to see this country governed by the so-called soft left of the Labour Party. And now I have got my wish. All hail the King of the North! PS Let’s hope it works.

The New Statesman cover this week is priceless
I’m feeling a mixture of hope and trepidation this morning. Andy Burnham may be Britain’s last chance to avoid going down the Trumpian road with that grifter Farage. Come on Andy!
Years ago I read Tom Holland’s book “Rubicon”, about Julius Caesar. He says war and loot made people like Pompey and Caesar so rich that the republic couldn’t contain them. And now we have our first trillionaire. Democracy won’t be able to contain him. These people need taking down.
The Omega Course just got a five-star review on Book Commentary. "This story delivers everything I look for in a book: superior storytelling, crisp writing, and pulsating drama. It excites the mind and entertains the heart. "

As Easter Sunday approaches, it's a good time to ask: was there an empty tomb? Spoiler alert: we have no way of knowing if there was a tomb. Even if there was, and even if it was empty, there are plenty of explanations that don't involve a resurrection. paulclark42.com/2024/06/25/e...

Family members can be very helpful when writing a scene outside your area of expertise. My eldest has had training in counselling, so when I wrote a scene where my MC has counselling, I sent it to her. I needed 3 rewrites before she said it was realistic enough www.amazon.co.uk/Omega-Course...

Write about what you know, they say. In my working life, I spent somef time dealing with the police, mostly helping students who'd been mugged/flashed at. As I helped them make statements, I notliced many police have poor spelling. So this is in two of my books:
1. Everything that begins to exist has a cause. 2. The universe began to exist. 3. Therefore the universe has a cause and that cause is God. NOT SO FAST! Every one of these statements is open to challenge. paulclark42.com/2024/06/12/k...
