A visit to the stunning Grand Postal Building in Bangkok. Although the Thai Post Office is no longer headquartered here there is still a working post office on the ground floor. The dual aperture post box outside has the ID number "1/1" reflecting its prime location. #postboxsaturday #Thailand

A subtle modification of the steel box design (see last week's post) followed in 1980. The triple stripes were gone but the "cut off" corners were retained. The photos show one in circa 1980 and another taken in 2024. #postboxsaturday #Thailand
In 1967 the concrete postboxes (see last week's post) were replaced by steel boxes with a triple stripe design like these seen in Pattaya in 1970 and hiding behind a food vendor in Korat in 1974. Some are still in use but the stripes are no longer picked out in white. #postboxsaturday
