As the crisp Autumnal nights draw in, it is time once again to sit in front of the fireplace, cover oneself with a Cat and a blanket, whilst 2 #WeirdNotWonderful creatures hang out, and I immerse myself in some Edward Gorey... #EdwardGorey #DrawingFunnyPictures #WhimsicalWednesday #Catsandbooks

Sydney loves nothing more on a Sunday morning than to watch Spider-Man, with me and a #WeirdNotWonderful Creature. Unfortunately, due to the draconian anti-cat rules that cinemas have, she can't see the current Spider-Man film, until it's out on DVD. #SpiderMan #DrawingFunnyPictures #MarvelComics

It be October, the Witching month... But let us have one more #FlowerPowerFriday of 2026... A celebration of Nature's Colourful Beauty and #WeirdNotWonderful Creatures Colourful Absurdity... #flowersonfriday #drawingfunnypictures #seekinspirationinbeauty

The last Friday in September is, traditionally, my last #FlowerPowerFriday of the year. But there shall be more, not many, but more there shall be. So enjoy a triple helping of Nature's Beauty with #WeirdNotWonderful ridiculousness. #FlowersOnFriday #DrawingFunnyPictures #SeekInspirationInBeauty

Today is, apparently, Batman Day... And as a long time reader, and Batfan, I created this, based on a true story... #IrnBru #batmanday #drawingfunnypictures #Batman www.nme.com/news/film/sc...

There are a finite amount of Fridays in 2026... As in other years. 2026 is not special, Fridays come and Fridays go until the last one and... I've actually lost my thread... Anyway, it's #FlowerPowerFriday. #FlowersOnFriday #DrawingFunnyPictures #WeirdNotWonderful #SeekInspirationInBeauty

Saw Coyote Vs Acme yesterday and it was an absolute wonderful absurdist delight. In an overtly vulgar and Ernest world, some old-fashioned, silliness is very welcome. Shaun the sheep this week. 👍 #CoyoteVsAcme #thebeastofmossybottom #drawingfunnypictures #NonsensicalOrnithology #WeirdNotWonderful

I received a package today, wrapped up in a 5-pound note, actually it was simply a photo of a five-pound note, so I exchanged it for a photo of some Chocolate Hobnobs. It was my September issue of Goon Show News from @thegsps.bsky.social #thegoonshow #DrawingFunnyPictures #NonsensicalOrnithology

"begone summer", the rain says, but remember what Messrs Garfunkel and Simon said, Flowers never bend with the rainfall. But they do dance wildly with the wind. #FlowerPowerFriday shall continue, weather be damned. #flowersonfriday #drawingfunnypictures #seekinspirationinbeauty #WeirdNotWonderful

Today being #Caturday, and Eric being the proud Cat of a Cartoonist, I felt a desire to, Librocubicubularistically, read some W. Heath Robinson. A wonderfully whimsical, eccentric and hilarious Cartoonist. A balm in this world of Trumpian Vulgarity. #drawingfunnypictures #ericthecartoonistscat

Sometimes I feel like a Rhyming Humorist in a confessional Vers libre world... Mainly because I am, and I am content with this. Today is the last #FlowerPowerFriday of August... #weirdnotwonderful #seekinspirationinbeauty #flowersonfriday #drawingfunnypictures

"I knew as soon as I could read and write That I must be a poet." So said Sir John Betjeman, who was born 120 years ago today. Today I shall be reading some of his verse to Sydney and Eric... #johnbetjeman

Humourous Comic Strips, an art that combines funny pictures with Funny words. A combination of Pratfalls and Poetry, some might say. And there was no better practitioner of it than the man born 146 years ago today. Happy Birthday Mr Herriman and thanks for the Joy. #GentleHumor #GeorgeHerriman

Today is #FlowerPowerFriday, and nature's beauty is there for all of us, even Frederick Von Throopleton, despite his protestations to the contrary. #weirdnotwonderful #drawingfunnypictures #flowersonfriday #seekinspirationinbeauty

Got my paper, got my pens, got my Book, How to Draw Ponies, by Norman Thelwell and I am joined by Eric, the Cat of a Cartoonist. I'm all set for a cartooning #WhimsicalWednesday. #ericthecartoonistscat #DrawingFunnyPictures #NormanThelwell #howtodrawponies

The name Charlie Grigg, may not have been apparent to me, but his artwork most certainly is. This book is a real trip down memory lane, and this morning I'm enjoying it alliteratively with #ComicsCatsAndCoffee #CharlieGrigg #BritishComics #NonsensicalOrnithology #DrawingFunnyPictures

Today is Black Cat Appreciation day. A day to Showcase the Gothic Splendour of those dusky, mysterious, adorable Felines. #BlackCatAppreciationDay #WeirdNotWonderful #DrawingFunnyPictures

I am a proud Goreyite. And as a proud Goreyite, I am spending Sunday Morning with Our Cats and Edward Gorey. Cats and Books, life can be tolerable. #EdwardGorey #WeirdNotWonderful #CatsAndBooks #DrawingFunnyPictures

100 years ago this very day, René Goscinny was born. Artistic mind, along with Albert Uderzo, behind Asterix, one of the funniest Comics of all time. He is also mentioned a lot in Harvey Kurtzman's biography. Eric is a Cat of a Cartoonist and would like to commemorate this. Happy Birthday Sir.
