Corruption can thrive when the possibility is dismissed as nonsense by journalists who should know better. I mean everyone pretty much knows FIFA is corrupt so why wouldn’t it extend to manipulating the draw to try and ensure the biggest names reach the later stages?
It’s particularly ironic that Balogun can only play for USA because of the birthright citizenship law that Trump is trying to get rid of 🤷♂️

Martinez died on the Ronaldo hill and blew Portugal’s chances with a very strong squad. Maybe Portugal should have hired Ralf Rangnick or Eric Ten Hag. They were brave enough to take on the incredible ego.

Pochettino is either unethical or stupid or both. He can surely see that FIFA are again breaking their own rules on political interference. What a sorry episode and it doesn’t help when the coach publicly supports the decision.
The fact that Ronaldo played in the first two games already meant that the tournament had been corrupted. Now, it’s just corruption in plain sight during the tournament. If the 🇺🇸 go further, they will be complicit in the scandal.

He had no other choice and this is 5 years overdue. The dismal performance in Euro 2020 should have seen him sacked. Instead, he helped perpetuate Scotland’s underdog mentality and persisted with dreadful brand of dinosaur football, showing loyalty to players who were nowhere near required level.
