shoutout to my favorite thing in ever. was having a horrible panic attack over the laptop thing earlier so i went and grabbed him and as soon as i held him to my chest he started purring. understood the assignment immediately.

y'know... when i decided to remove my kofi goal for a new laptop thinking i could chug along with my current one for longer.... i wasn't expecting i'd have to find out it has a lithium ion battery due to said battery swelling....

taking up cooking more often than i used to (meaning at all) has really taught me i love it dearly.

kind of wanting to draw my favorite character from the comic i spent the last bit catching up on... i'm not normally like "i gotta draw this character" but he's so good. also i do think i should try fanart to express my love for characters more :p get rid of my personal hangups abt making fanart

"have a gallery where people can easily see your work" is good advice. "have your links in your bio/pinned" is good advice. "have your own website" is good advice. but what do you do when people go "ugh clicking on a link is so much work" lmao. like we have GOT to re-train people to take initiative

this isn't to blame artists for doing what they have to to survive but also i feel like collectively, basically the entire internet has been focused on making things completely frictionless for so long that it's just made the problem worse. when lifting a finger becomes "friction" you have a problem

it just really frustrates me that artists are expected to spoonfeed and there is never an expectation that audiences learn to use the spoon themselves. i know that's something that would be hard to change at this point though 🫠

listen. i don't make a webcomic. i do make other stuff and as an artist, i do everything in my power to make it easy to find. but i can only change my own behavior so much. when people won't even look for or click links *in our bios on social media*, that is the audience's failure, not the artist's

im not saying all the advice about websites and comicfury and whatnot is bad btw, just that it sucks how little of the audience you end up bringing with you to new places, and how easy it would be for most of them to keep up if they put forth a shred of effort

you can literally set up calendar reminders if you need notifications to remind you to check other websites. my brain is also a slip n slide i get it but please don't just let corporations guide your hand online 100% of the time

it sucks how few people are willing to endure even a little friction to continue to read things they supposedly liked. that's the saddest part to me, when someplace like tapas goes down.

everyone wants to tell artists what to do and i wish we could shift to telling audiences what to do sometimes. if you liked webcomics that were on tapas, follow somewhere else. learn to use RSS. don't let the seamlessness of apps turn your brain into soup. you can change your habits

i would absolutely love it if my body would figure out that we do not live in europe and thus do not need to sleep on the same schedule as some of my friends who do. my ass lives in the midwest a mile from a giant corn field i should be ASLEEP
