Peterborough Beer Festival
@pborobeerfest.bsky.social
One of CAMRA's largest beer festivals with around 500 UK cask, 70 US cask, 20 continental draught lines, 20 UK keg lines, Dutch wood cask and a dedicated Lager Bar, along with a huge range of ciders, gins, rums and wine. A proper family friendly festival.
UK Cask list: pborobeerfest.camra.org.uk/viewnode.php... (yeah yeah, we still need to add in all the tasting notes, but d'you know how long that takes!? and we couldn't keep this list a secret any longer!)
World Beer Bar list for the festival is now live! pborobeerfest.camra.org.uk/viewnode.php... Really can't wait to try some of this deliciousness!

What a great turnout! Folks from Peterborough, Birmingham, Bristol and Central Manchester branches taking the opportunity to socialise and chat over a few excellent pints!
Birmingham, Bristol and Peterborough branch members in the Colmore enjoying some damn fine @thornbridge.bsky.social beers.
Today we're at The Colmore in Birmingham for our last pre-fest social, a joint one with the Birmingham branch of CAMRA to help kick off their Saturday Socials. If you're in the area, come join us as this excellent @thornbridge.bsky.social pub!
We're hosting the Michael Jackson Award at the festival this year, given to the best US cask, judged by UK brewers, cellar staff and publicans. pborobeerfest.camra.org.uk/viewnode.php...

We're not announcing the beers just yet. Except this one. We've just ordered a keg of this. It's only a 10 litre keg. 15 pints. Only available in 1/3s. It won't be around long!
The US cask list is now live: pborobeerfest.camra.org.uk/viewnode.php... There are some seriously stunning beers coming to our corner of the UK!

We've got the proofs for this year's glasses! Absolutely loving how this logo looks so clean and stylised!
We can't thank this guy enough! The knowledge and passion were overwhelming, and the quality of beer matched it
We've made it to Salt Brewery for a talk, tasting and tour from the Ossett Brewery folks.
We've arrived in Leeds! A quick stop at The Hop on our way to Salt Brewery, and of course some of our party asked for the sparklers to be taken off 🤦
We now know what US Breweries have shipped us beer... pborobeerfest.camra.org.uk/viewnode.php...

Another one coming from the States that I'm particularly interested in: Martha's Exchange - Prince Ludwig's Kentish Holiday - 4.7% Oktoberfest Marzen malt base, and using Tettnang and East Kent Goldings hops with an English ale yeast.
We had another site visit this morning, this time to chat with the council about vehicle and pedestrian access to the festival. We'll be running it mostly the same as last year, with part of the Bishops Road car park being set aside for a drop off/pick up point for taxis and private cars.
US cask beer in a nice chilled shipping container about to start its journey half way across the world to our festival!
We've just got the list of which beers the Americans are sending over in cask, and while there's not as many as we'd hoped (shipping issues), there's some absolute stunners on there!
This weekend we've gone through the beers coming in for the regional round of SIBA annual beer awards and it's been really encouraging to see what were once thought of as "traditional" breweries expanding into more modern styles as well as keg...
We're deep into beer ordering and just heard from a brewery that they're letting us have a small keg of barrel-aged imperial stout that they'd reserved for a rainy day. This has been described as one of the best beers ever made, so we're glad we asked if they still had some!
The beer list for the SIBA competition were hosting is in, and the order list for the World Beer Bar is in, and I'm away in Manchester for the weekend on a break, but there's no rest for the wicked so I'm merging beer lists while waiting for friends to arrive. It's looking all kinds of awesome!
One of our great neighbours who are always a great support for us!
Running alongside the Peterborough Beer Festival in August, Charters will be running a festival of its own. Well worth a look in to this unique Boro pub!
Meeting over in 31 minutes, that's a new record!
Well, of we're at The Brewery Tap ahead of a festival open meeting, it'd be rude not to sample the beers...
We've got our July open meeting today, 3pm at The Brewery Tap in Peterborough. It'll be a quick round up of progress and changes followed by your chance to ask any questions about the festival.
When the great Roger Protz asks, we can't deny We're now on BlueSky!
Peterborough Beer Festival Tues 25 to Saturday 29 August, The Embankment, Cathedral views, by the River Nene. Central Peterborough. Should it now be called The Great British Beer Festival? Could it please have a Bluesky account? @cambridgecamra.bsky.social
