I get this response but we do need to also accept that he's been convicted of a crime, served a sentence, and paid the price that society has asked him to. Not saying either way whether he should stand for the party or not but this has given him a lot of publicity.

I seem to have annoyed both sides of the trans debate by saying that legislation needs an update. It's a pointless conversation if that happens.

It does amaze me how the Equality Act guidance is now relegating trans people to a massively unequal position. I get that there are complexities and difficulties but if the act actively harms a group then it needs revision. I don't necessarily have the answers, but I know what we have is wrong.

I am writing following our conversation at Mayor’s Question Time (12 June 2026) where I raised concerns about the distress and anxiety trans Londoners tell me they are feeling following the publication of the revised Code of Practice for service providers and associations by the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC).
You told me that your “priority is to ensure London remains a city where everyone, regardless of gender identity, can thrive, feel safe and belong.” [1]
You'll be aware that this week, on 5 August 2026, the Government's updated EHRC Code of Practice comes into effect, following an order from the Minister for Women and Equalities.
Trans led organisations, such as Trans Actual, have maintained that the Code remains unworkable; it does not protect trans people, it does not help service providers and it does not respect the UK’s human rights obligations. [2]
Despite cross party condemnation, with 166 MPs signing Early Day Motion (EDM) 240,
tabled by Nadia Whittome MP, in an effort to halt this discriminatory guidance, there has
been no debate in Parliament.

The Equality Act needs urgent revision. Just updating the guidance based on the Supreme Court ruling has made everything a lot more difficult for everyone. The fair thing to do is revise the legislation urgently.

I've managed to not go to the gym for a week. I don't have to go. I feel better when I go (although not always immediately afterwards). I want to go. But I don't have to go.
So one of the reasons that open source used to be valuable was that it allowed you to shortcut the building of specific elements of your system. But since AI can build the smaller libraries very fast, and to a high enough quality, then a lot of open source becomes redundant.

I see the "oh there are people who are sad that someone's died... but they were bad so they must be bad too". Grow up. It really is astonishing how awful people. Disagree with people all you like but don't be a dick to them.
If AI is trained to write according to some grammatical rules and some conventions, then isn't a person writing to those rules and conventions at risk of being accused of writing like AI?
My cabin was 23 degrees this morning. It's now 34 degrees. As with the boiling frog, I don't notice until I start sweating. I hate heatwaves.
When I was young, I remember my brother had a book on how to solve the Rubiks Cube. It was written by a 14 y/o from Eastern Europe somewhere. I learned to do the cube again as an adult from various simple websites. I really don't want to learn how to speed solve the cube. Is it just me?
So Musk doesn't pay his suppliers for the data centre expansion. Not a surprise. The bit that amazes me is that the original Colossus computers were built over 2 years, created genuinely novel solutions, and helped win a war. I hate everything about this story.

If you make decisions based on what people on social media say, you end up never making a choice for yourself. It's harmful to your mental health. It's also allowing yourself to be under a form of coercive control. Learn to make the best choices you feel able to. It matters.

It’s really very easy! There is no ethical consumption under capitalism, so make the choices you’re going to make and be chill.
