Went to watch Transformers The Movie for its 40th anniversary. That film barely stops for its 85 minutes. It’s still loads of fun. Way better than the Michael Bay nonsense. And the little short at the end was very nice.

Technically speaking, the GameCube is 25 years old this week (though we in the UK didn’t see it until 2002). Despite it being considered a flop, it’s probably the console I’ve loved the most. So many brilliant games, though some Nintendo franchises were better served than others.

Ed Sheeran is a coward. He could have stood up to the stadium owners but he chose not to.

I think I’m almost done with Fallout 4. Having all the DLC content meant it felt like too much. Trying to now race through the end of the main story. Think I’ll stick with the Railroad rather than jumping ship to the Institute. I dumped the Brotherhood as soon as I could.

Saw both the Camp Miasma movie and The Incomer. Both excellent movies. Both a little bit weird. Still meaning to see The End of Oak Street but I guess it’s had very little buzz around it so maybe it’s not something I should worry about missing.

As a traditional SNP voter, I can’t help thinking that shrinking the health boards down to two is a terrible idea. The west will become heavily Glasgow-centric. The east Edinburgh-centric. Things will likely get worse for everybody else.

The Apple TV love continues as my wife and I finally give Slow Horses a go. Really enjoyed that first season.

Catching up with The Studio and really enjoying it (so far). A show about Hollywood that’s very cinematic-literate.

Heard today of a genuine incident of someone changing their plans to stay in Glasgow (overnight) because of the BBC documentary. Feel like I need to watch it. My guess from the reports, is that there will be zero balance.

Binge watched another cancelled show. The Copenhagen Test was a fun spy romp that had shades of Bourne, Bond, Wick and countless other movies of the same genre. But it was good fun. The performances were good. Kinda wanted to see how crazy it was all going to get. Was it going to go all Alias on us?

Had to drop down to easy because my patience had worn thin but finally finished Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. That last boss fight was too long. Given the full heal Cloud for the last fight, why couldn’t they make that a save checkpoint? Easy was too easy in the end.

The early island hops in The Odyssey reminded me of our Curse of Strahd D&D campaign. Go to a place. Encounter a thing. Realise thing is more powerful than you. Run away.

For my own sanity, I think I have to concede and drop the level for the final battle in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Life’s too short and I’m clearly rubbish. And every time I fully quit out, I need to play over an hour of boss fight all over again. Absolutely infuriating.

Enjoyed Spider-man: Brand New Day. Continues to be one of the best characters in the MCU. The other MCU characters dropping in were a nice touch that reminds us he’s part of a bigger thing, but this is his story.

Everything Trump touches turns to shit. He’s even ruined football. There’s no way he hasn’t been part of this FIFA debacle.

I hate to think the damage done to Glasgow’s reputation after the anti-immigration gathering that took place yesterday - whilst we host 70-odd countries for the Commonwealth Games. And this comes after me mentioning how welcoming the city was the previous weekend for Glasgow Pride.

Saw Moana (remake) yesterday. I enjoyed it because it’s pretty much an exact copy of the animation and I really like the animation. Don’t need to see it again because I really like the animation. Still think Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast were the high points of this current Disney trend.

Played Wondrous Creatures last night for the first time and I’m frustrated at the fact that I just never got an engine going. Never got refresh creatures. The one infinity creature I drew needed me to have refresh creatures. I basically went all in on instants. Came a distant second.

With Sarwar going, the top spot for Scottish Labour will be up for grabs. Hope someone campaigns on untethering themselves from UK Labour.

So Anas Sarwar is quitting Holyrood for the House of Lords. Tells me everything I already knew about Anas Sarwar. The guy craves power and as far as he’s concerned, true power comes from Westminster. It’s interesting how easily failed Holyrood party leaders flock to the HoL.

Watched the Doomsday trailer and it looks….fine. I think my issue with Doom being the big bad in the big crossover movie is that it hasn’t been earned. Thanos and the Infinity Stones was there throughout the movies that built to Avengers Infinity War.

The best team won the World Cup. I do wish Spain had more threat up front. Had they scored earlier, I think we’d have got a better game. Trump at the end was a total riddy. He’s such a narcissist. Infantino trying to get him out the way was pretty funny.

Everyone needs to read ‘We Need To Tax Billionaires’. It’s a short read. Western civilisation is on the verge and the growing wealth gap is leading to its collapse. A wealth tax with zero loopholes. A wealth tax that follows you if you try to leave the country to live in a tax haven.

Glasgow Pride was on in the city today whilst I was through there getting a haircut. This is the Glasgow I know and love. One that not only accepts folk for who they are, it celebrates them for who they are. A far cry from the bigoted nonsense coming from the ‘staunch brigade’ in their balaclavas.

Been watching Traitors US with my wife. The finale is so fucking infuriating. A certain person was too fucking trusting of someone who shouldn’t have been trusted. They deserved to lose.

So Burnham is a climate science denier, he’s under the thumb of the oil&gas lobby, or he’s trying to appease orange Mussolini in Washington. Regardless of his reason to authorise further oil extraction, he’s showing that he’s not the progressive messiah and that he’s still a Blairite deep down.

Enjoyed Ready or Not 2 apart from some man on woman violence that I just found a bit uncomfortable to watch. The ridiculousness of people just exploding into a bloody mess at least made up for some of the uncomfortableness. Two leads and the support cast are all top notch.

I’m at the fourth stage of a boss fight and my controller lost power. If it makes me start from the beginning I won’t be happy. My only main grumble for both FFVII remakes is the length and frequency of boss fights towards the end of the game.

Been playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on Switch 2 and whilst exploration can be a bit clunky at times, the battle system is good and the storytelling is sublime. I presume we’ll get the third part. Hope Square Enix revisit VIII in a similar fashion.

Thank fuck for that. Didn’t feel nice supporting Argentina but as someone who lives in Scotland, who has had to deal with English punditry and commentary for as long as I remember, I had no other choice. Hope Spain wins it.
