It is interesting to see basketball media sharpening the knives for Dundon while hockey media doesn't really do anything

Nice guy, tries hard, loves the (video) games (and sometimes the Leafs) blonjamin on discord + twitch he/him
David Samson basically gives up the game on getting public financing for sports stadiums and it's maybe the C plot in this episode?
We brought @davidpsamson.bsky.social and @darthamin.bsky.social back for this. Come join us in the chat at 8p ET: youtu.be/k7yjAxUqmTg?...
Episode 4 might have more juice than any before it. Getting dangerously close to an official recommendation
The new show Lucky on Apple TV has my attention. Strong first 3 eps
The more I look at it the more I feel the Bobrovsky contract has the potential to be What If Pat Marleau but at the most important position instead of the least

A little embarrassing to host a world cup final in New Jersey of all places
Chris Nolan needs his Moneyball movie and I'm going to keep saying this until it catches on
There's a guy in season 1 who says something like "nobody likes Marvel movies" and I recognized him from the Marvel's Agents of SHIELD tv show and that cracked me up
Any Hacks watchers here? I loved season 1 but haven't been loving season 2 so far

Glad the soccer game is wrapped up and we can move on to other things
What I'm learning about this NHL27 connected franchise mode is to wait for NHL28 when it's actually complete
Turns out playing 11v9 is good more teams should try that strategy
The teams that made the last 16 of the World Cup, sorted by xG difference per 90 when winning. England were among the least ambitious teams at the tournament.
The lack of rest advantaged games is interesting for Toronto and Winnipeg. Both have 10 total where others look to be in the 15-20 range. Wonder if that's geographic or just coincidence
Rest advantages for 2026-2027 The Ontario teams get the toughest rest schedules, and Montreal gets the softest.
What do you mean I watched Interstellar in theatres last night and when I woke up this morning it looked like the dust was coming
I'll be honest, I just assumed all the owners put all their relatives on the Cup when they won
Anaheim's going to struggle and fail to rebuild and they'll blame it on the offer sheet and not on Verbeek being a bad GM who was doomed to fail already
What are the chances he plays the full contract in Anaheim? 50%? Less?
I think the Ducks are in big trouble despite the match. Carlsson is not going to live up to that contract and if the Ducks struggle he's going to receive a lot of criticism. His hitting UFA at 26 is going to be the elephant in the room.
NHL GMs: Uh I guess we'll trade our guy for a pick and a prospect NBA GMs: All right lads I've worked up a quick 6 team trade inspired by Sun Tzu's The Art of War, I'll hook us up on the conference call
The Washington Wizards have acquired Khris Middleton via a six-team sign-and-trade from the Dallas Mavericks. Middleton has agreed to a three-year deal worth $17.6 million with the Wizards. (via: ShamsCharania /X)
Impressive that he was able to get over the intense geographic rivalry from his playing days to join the Leafs. As a player he'll always be a legend in Detroit but maybe as a coach he can be a legend in Toronto

I should probably get around to changing my profile pic here sometime by Lowry winning a championship in Toronto remains the peak of my sports watching existence. Happy to see him retire a Raptor
I wonder if a team could use an offer sheet to ransom back their picks and get an extra asset out of it. It's risky if you're a rebuilding team but if you're a middle of the pack team you can probably still be comfortably ahead if someone calls your bluff
Also safe to assume the offer sheet is 54 of the 90 million in signing bonuses and front loaded as much as possible
If you're an RFA in the next couple years, how can you say no to these offers
Key details from what I understand on Leo Carlsson offer-sheet: Front-loaded and bonus structure, as we’d all expect In the next 12 months, he will earn approximately $39M
