many of the early and most successful game designers and developers were women most people don't remember their names today, or recall that video game history started before the Boys Toys era funny that many of the games I grew up loving most were designed by women and I never knew til years later

I think about King's Quest a lot. Distinct childhood memory of overhearing a middle-aged woman at church telling my mom about how much she loved kings quest. This was like circa 1995? games used to be for everyone until nintendo/sega marketers turned them into Action Toys For 12 Year Old Boys

🎉 TODAY!! 🎉 Plan is to go from 11am -11pm ET and just play a bunch of games with folks, watch old clips and celebrate all the amazing people I've been lucky enough to be around for the last 9 YEARS!💖 Come hang out and collect your free viewer badge (or if you feel generous get the sub gift badge)

A Twitch special event promotion graphic that looks like pictures and notes attached to a cork board.

Large text reads " 9 Year Twitch Anniversary! - 12 hours of Games! - Special Badges - Sub Discounts.
Friday, July 24.

The special badges appear on Polaroid pictures on the cork board. One is a rainbow deer butt badge. The other is a very cute Bulbasaur, the grass Pokemon, surrounded by hearts.

Today, we’re publicly sharing that Dual Wield Studio has reached the difficult decision to conduct layoffs. If you’re hiring, please reach out in response to this post or via email to hello@dualwieldstudio.com - our priority is ensuring everyone impacted can find a great new job.

Today, we’re publicly sharing that Dual Wield Studio has reached the difficult decision to conduct layoffs. This is not done lightly; our core ethos prioritizes taking care of our team above all.
Candidly, layoffs reflect a failure of leadership sufficiently planning and acting in service of the team.

Last year, our current Leadership became aware of our company having operated at a significant income deficit for several years. We informed our team of this concern, and did what we could to mitigate it as much as possible, including the seniormost highest-paid members of Leadership deferring significant owed pay in order to extend more funds to our team.

Despite this, without more drastic action, our trajectory endangered our ability to reasonably continue to fairly compensate our team or support them in the event of financial insolvency.
Layoffs are that drastic action.

Full-time employees impacted by the layoff will receive 6 months severance pay, 6 months medical benefits, and 6 months of tailored outplacement support, with comparable severance offered to our incubation business project contributor. If we cannot continue to fairly employ people, we believe we should at least do what we can to help them find their next job.

We’re heartbroken to send away folks who have been part of what makes our team so special, and are committed to doing all we can to sustain Dual Wield Studio by learning from our mistakes to do better.

If you’re hiring, these are some marvelous folks for you to consider – please reach out in response to this post, or to hello@dualwieldstudio.com

So very excited to announce that I'm a Featured Creator for Card Party 4 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL happening in just a couple weeks. 🎉 Card Party has grown since the second one & so have I as a Creator. I've made so many amazing friends from them, and I cherish every one. If you're going, come say hi!

Mainstream Respectable opinion is that people joking about a bad person's death represents a culture of cruelty, but really it represents a culture of impunity. It's a coping mechanism for watching someone do evil their whole life and never seeing consequences

Once again, our community never ceases to amaze me. Thank you to everyone who subbed, watched, raided, and wished me a happy birthday. Ya'll are truly the best and I'm lucky to have so many wonderful people around me. <3 <3
