MY entry into this ecellent Peanuts Collab. Would you believe Peanuts was a big influence in creating Port Able? This was really fun for me to draw (and thrown in a reference to another old comic strip I like), I highly recommend everyone go check out the other entries too. They're great!

I had the honor of participating in this collab alongside many other talented artists and Peanuts fans! For my entry, I redrew the original strip that started it all but in the current modern Peanuts style! Definitely check out the full collab when you get the chance!

For the way I laid out @peanutscollab.bsky.social, I knew there were going to be some cases where there would be blank spaces on the pages, so I decided to fill them out with extra illustrations of the characters. (1/5) #Peanuts #Snoopy #art #fanart
Unlike the comic strip I drew for the project, I wanted to keep the strips as close to Schulz style as possible, which is harder than it looks. These characters are deceptively-simple-looking, get one line out of place and the whole thing looks off. (2/5)
Sally Brown gave my the most trouble, but I wanted to feature her due to the fact that her appearances in the strips that got chosen were limited to silent cameos. (3/5)
The majority of these drawings were done in one day, except for these four, which were taken from my Charles Schulz tribute comic I drew a few years back: bsky.app/profile/wagg... (4/5)

I've been getting a few negative comments on this, and it's okay if not everybody likes it, but people seem to be going as far as to assume I'm claiming to be better than Charles Schulz, which isn't the case at all. This was just a recreation done for fun and experimenting.

There is even an official Peanuts book with tributes similar to this one, with multiple artists drawing Charlie Brown and the gang in their own style, like that book this and the other strips in @peanutscollab.bsky.social were made as a tribute, not a replacement.

My biggest struggle here was trying to figure out how I was gonna draw Charlie Brown, as I couldn't decide on what his eyes should look like. Eventually I just decided to change them and just go with whatever design I thought best fit the scene, which surprisingly worked out great in the end. (2/2)
