I just rewatched, The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) by the Coen bros. This movie gets so close to being great, but the balance between style and substance is too off. I really like it, it's just that I really want to love it, and I just can't. Although! I honestly think Jennifer Jason Leigh is amazing.

Now rewatching, Barton Fink (1991), by the brilliant Coen brothers. Great movie, great cast, especially Goodman, and great art direction. Amazing looking film.

Now spinning, Neil Young - Trans (1983). I’m a big fan of Neil, so I know this is a hot take, but this is my favorite album of his.

I just played, Oscar Peterson - We Get Requests (1964). This is the last album in a box set of his I recently bought. It’s not one of his best. It’s pleasant and easy to listen to. The playing is superb though. 3/5

Coen Bros rewatch continues with, Miller’s Crossing (1990). It’s crazy how many masterpieces the Coen’s have, because this isn’t even in my top five of theirs. This is an amazing film filled with incredible performances, amazing dialogue and one of the greatest scores ever. 5/5

I just finished my first rewatch of Woody Allen’s Crisis in Six Scenes (2016). A limited 6 episode series. Critics didn’t like it, Woody regrets making it, and you know what? I enjoy it. Far from great but also far from bad. I actually like it more than a handful of his films. 3/5

Now watching the greatest Coen brothers film ever made, Raising Arizona (1987). This is an amazing movie. It needed to exist. The whole cast is perfect. Other than, Naked Gun, this is the hardest I have ever laughed in my life. To this day. God do I love this movie.

Now watching, Blood Simple (1984). My Coen bros rewatch marathon starts now.

I’m pleased to say that, Masters of the Universe (2026), was a fun movie. Although the running time was a bit too much. Good popcorn film overall. 3.5/5

I’m not a fan of Christopher Nolan, but sometimes he makes a really good film. This is one of those. Although I’m not sure I liked that Steven Seagal ending. 4/5

I just rewatched, New York Stories (1989). Coppola! Scorsese! Allen! This should have been amazing, but it's a mess. Scorsese hits it out of the park though. His segment is pretty great, unlike Coppola's, which underwhelms so much. Although Wes Anderson took notes. Woody's segment is ok. 3/5

Now spinning, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band - Will the Circle Be Unbroken (1972). One of the greatest albums ever in any genre. This is a very important and historical album, it's also an amazing listening experience. This is not only for Old Country and Bluegrass fans, but for everyone.

I’ve finally come to the end of my Woody Allen rewatch. Coup de Chance (2023). This is Woody’s 50th film, and it’s great, and it’s also in French. Woody does a great job here. A very effective thriller. The main actress is fantastic, and beautiful and charming. I’m in love. 4.5/5

I just rewatched, Rifkin’s Festival (2020) by Woody Allen. Easily one of his weakest films. It’s not bad, but it’s also not good. Although I did enjoy it a bit more on this watch. 2.5/5 One more film to go.

Now rewatching, Woody Allen’s A Rainy Day in New York (2019). This movie is a wonderful mess. Far from perfect but yet it’s so charming. Great cast, great cinematography, great music, and a great youthful energy.

Now spinning, yet again, The Rolling Stones - Emotional Rescue (1980). I just can’t get enough of it. I was playing their new album earlier and it totally reminded me of, Emotional Rescue.

I finally got around to watching, Nowhere Boy (2009), about John Lennon younger teenage years. It’s really good and very emotional. I cried in the end. I really recommend it. 4/5

Now spinning the Rolling Stones new album- Foreign Tongues. This is really good! It’s amazing that they can make music this good so late in their career. Mick is 82 years old! The crazy thing is he sounds the same! Seriously. There is no mistaking that voice.

I rewatched, Woody Allen’s Wonder Wheel (2017). Another film with low ratings. They had it out for him. Even though the movie doesn’t really come together, it’s still wonderful. I adore the period setting and Kate is brilliant, but it’s the photography that blows me away. Gorgeous beyond belief.
